I’m sorry, but what they are doing is not freedom of speech nor freedom of assembly and the right to protest. This is a group of students mix with others who are not part of the student body who are just agitators and they need to go. I believe a section should be marked as a protest area and it should be away from the main area so that students can get back-and-forth to classes, and they wanna make sure they got some on their side which I wouldn’t be surprised if they do so this is bullshit

Freedom of speech is an issue between you and the government. Columbia isn't the government. They allow protests at their own choice. And that includes how any protests they permit can be conducted. I doubt taking over buildings and constructing an encampment on the quad is in their list of OKs.
Al Jazeera is misleading again as you always. The first Amendment protects the right of individuals and institutions from government. Not from other individuals and institutions. Your civil disobedience becomes unconstitutional when you violate others’ rights.
