Hamas dressed as civilians. Not as Military soldiers. Hamas could move without being known. It could simply melt into the other civilians. A very difficult War for any Nation to fight. The Israelis could not melt into the civilians, even if they dressed as civilians.

Where a political party is armed, and ordinary citizens are mostly afraid to speak out, normal elections are impossible.
