You're a comedian. Love your videos.
Eldris Alba can get the role and play it better. He is London born and he will adapt to it better. I am looking forward to the series.
I think something is off about this video giving that a Ghanian is the one pushing the narrative and I've not seen any Nigerian blogger mention this. We all are celebrating the success of one of Africa's greatest writer and you are talking about casting.
Dude we don't have any problem as long as African stories are told by Hollywood the way they ought to be told (in the African way) not the way Hollywood wants to tell it (the Western way) because culture is important in that nareativ.
Personally I care more about the Director than the actors because the vision belongs to the Director and like Denzel Washington once said "It's more about culture not color" The entire cast can be Black Americans for all I care but if the Director doesn't understand Nigerian culture then trust me the movie will get a lot of backlash which is why I'm more concerned about the person telling the story (i.e the Director) than the person being used to tell the story. Idris can have fun. He's good. Nobody disputes that but I feel there are sinister motives behind this post because a Nigerian can't speak for Ghana film industry so why should a Ghanian speak for Nollywood?
When Ghanaians were complaining about Lil Wayne bringing in Ramson Noah and other Nigerians to make his movies Ghanian celebrities and YouTubers spoke against it. Which is understandable because they were speaking for themselves even though it's a sign of inferiority complex.
So you can't accuse us of saying something because you think we ought to say something. If this was really a big issue Nigerians will have mentioned it in entertainment news and shows just the way Ghanaians couldn't stop talking about Nigerians in Ghanaian movies. You are inferior doesn't mean we are inferior. If we were we won't be having this conversation because nobody would be interested in Chinua Achebe's book.
Hello new subcriber here i just find your channel last night and i was laughing like crazy 🤣🤣 keep up the good work
Bruh Nigeria & NIGERIANS have serious things to deal with in Nigeria. This is too cheap for us to care about
ojukwu must never keep English (it goes against the purpose of the story)
You said their perception is way more than what africa is????
Inferiority complex
AAAAAPTICS 😂😂😂
Who cares about Nollywood in the first place
You should read it
This is a smart African man..Protect him
As a Nigerian, I don't have a problem with this casting. There will only be a problem if they do not give the roles of other main characters and supporting characters to Nigerian actors.
It's mostly ghanaians that would care about shit like this. I guess that's why one made this video. 😂. As a Nigerian, I'm in full support of Idris Elba my African brother if he can do a good job
No Nigerian of any significance is making this an issue
😂😂😂aaptics
You should have sold Ghana by adding Idris has a Ghanaian blood.
💯💯💯💯💯💯
3:19 my thought, but i guess they have a reason.
Uche Montana cant act 😂😂😂😂
Is it the same Nigerian crying about the south African issue, and in a breathe they are doing the same thing ?
"Aki and PawPaw played by the dude from GOT and Rey Mysterio"
😂😂😂😂
No one cares
It's the fake accent that annoys me.
Your jokes are really funny 😂
In my mind Idris Elba makes sense as Okonkwo , he has a physicality and the intensity to play the role
Herh you be smart waa whiles you were talking about Nigerians making the movie you made the screen black to make fun of their power issues but no one caught it 😂😂😂😂😂
To all those who don't get it, he is being paid to play a role i.e, act and in case you guys forgot it is also a business and his name pulls a lot of eyeballs more than any other Nollywood star. We don't hear anything when there are Nigerians in Hollywood playing original Black American roles.
Aaaaptics
LESPLAY!!!✊🏽✊🏽✊🏽
Idris also did a Mandela movie. I hear what the Nigerians are saying but I'm gonna lie if I'm gonna say I'm not gonna watch the movie. Lol. TFA is an amazing movie. But I also understand AAAAptics.
les am here ooo
At least Pete ndochie koraaa dey
This people are fun of doing that at least just add one or two Nollywood actors errr, i feel their pain tho,
If the writer was alive koraaa like he no go gree for that koraaa 😂😢😢
Optics
You just made my night!
Rey mysterio😂
Just saw that the rights of the novel was bought for 1M Dollars (the shooting sef no start yet) and they want who to play what???
3y3 Broni sika oooo, they’re aiming at making 20 times more of that back…
Many many wet dreams 😂
Cos he has the optics 😂
We talking about money man
0:56 is Chiwetel Ejiofor dead? The man is also kinda sexy, he's from Dr Strange and Lion King, he also has a sketchy Nigerian accent. Again, why wasn't he called 🤦🏾♀️? By a Nigerian producer no less, I hope they don't have beef. I'd have preferred Wesley Snipes for Okonkwo, he's also Nigerian and he's Blade. Please read the book, it's short and very interesting.
