  1. I disagree that there are no rule books. God is the author of relationships and so His word the Bible presents excellent relationship guidance. If a marriage is “just between two people” then why are we all here learning from each other? Why go to a counselor etc? The Bible says the older women should teach the younger; marriage is between two people but is blessed by the presence of community and valuable wise connections. It takes a village; God is a God of relationship and community; it’s never just about 2 people even though 2 are married.

  2. Love is deeper than “like”; love is unconditional but like is contingent on what is done or not done. When we love deeply, like or liking will flow ; liking is about how someone makes us feel whereas love is selfless and is “other” focused.

  3. Absolutely loved the discussion and multiple perspectives on this thing we call Black love! I could care less what the panelist wore or who they love the message was recieved and my soul fed 🖤

  4. Love seeing and hearing married black men be vulnerable, positive and mature. Beautiful ❤
Thank you intelligent, articulate, wise Black men❤
Our community needs these safe spaces to grow and heal❤

  5. 3:40 Saying Love is not enough is a bogus statement. And it indicates that Society does not properly define Love. The Biblical definition of Love is below and should be used; not the Secular Definition.

    1 Corinthian 13:4-8
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.

  6. This was a great discussion, I recently just laid my daughter to rest, I'm trying not to shut down, still navigate my marriage, and continue to be a father to my son. This was helpful in the mist of my grieving process. Thank yall
