That ending was really sweet. Beautiful conversation, a lot to think about regarding how to guide kids towards the tools to be empathetic and critical thinkers. Its something Dr. K on YouTube also talks about a lot– the best way to communicate with kids is to ask them questions about what it is they actually want and why, and to really listen to how they work through these things. I know that when I was a kid there was nothing more frustrating than "because I said so", and some of the greatest learning experiences were from making mistakes and then being able to work through my thought process with my Dad so I could realize that my own actions weren't aligned with what I wanted out of life and how I wanted to be perceived.

no one has to make family/community attractive. It is an innate human need that everyone seeks out. Most of our entertainment is "found family". We can't afford stable families can we can't afford stable lives.
