  1. sir why you didnt tell me about the other towns that are in namibia when you coming from south africa. You did hide towns like Mariental after Keetmanshoop and kakstrand n Rohobot. No more coming to your country driving never is too far next time will use fleight

  2. Worked in Winhoek some 32years ago and once made a trip with the some local young people with the bus to cape town and back. yeah long drive. Nice to see this ride again.

  3. That first time i watched this video was inspired me too much i never think of visiting namibia but on the 9th of november i am going there because of this video. I now paid off everything eg accommodation first on south african side viooldrift lodge for 1 night, and city junction on widhoek side. Thanks a lot sir for your video

  4. I arrive in Cape Town in January 2025 and from there hoping to find a shared car journey to Windhoek. Anyone know if there's ways to contact people who are doing this?

  5. Thank you for sharing. So very familiar. Just did that border crossing 2 weeks ago on motorbike, took the long way via Namib desert and Swakopmund. It was fantastic to see the countries from Cape Town to Victoria Falls.

  6. I travel this road at least 4 times a year. Most beautiful, and I often do it solo. I prefer to nap at the border for about 2 hours and then proceed. I work in Namibia, in Walvis Bay, and also use the Windhoek way to get there. Mom and I drove the 1st time without really taking proper rest, not knowing the getting a sim card is such a tedious task, and we wasted about 3 hours. We got that done in Mariental the 1st time. But all went well.

  7. We follow your channel as we are planning a family trip to Windhoek or Swakopmund. Saw the reviews on Vioolsdrift lodge and some complaints from people of colour that owner at lodge treats races differently. What is your experience and can you recommend other accommodation close to border

  8. Thanks this is amazing nice and easy. Iam Angolano and I would love to make this trip from here to cape but with a 3 day stop in Windhoek when going and when caming back
Lubango to Windhoek it’s 1200 kz

  9. My first and last time driving that road was in March 1991 to and from its independence day and Ziggy Marley and the Wailers performance. I like the country and it's people. Good memories

  10. Really helpfull, thank you for sharing. Question: is it possible to rent a car (pickup truck) in South Africa and make the crossing to Namibia? I am coming from Brazil and my destination is in the south of Namibia, about 850km from Cape Town (which has a direct flight to São Paulo) so, driving seems the best alternative. My current travel plans include flying to Windhoek and then taking another plane the next day to my final destination.

  11. after reading all the negatives about this road trip you have made reconsider. I and my partner we are planning a long road trip from dar es salaam Tanzania to Cape Town and from Cape Town to Windhoek and back to Tanzania. it looks doable, thanks mate.
