If not madness, stupidity, idiocy, illiteracy, dumbness, carelessness, why will anyone sink money into projects on this kind of plot?

Meanwhile, did the authorities not see these buildings while they were under construction? Oh! I forgot… Bribe😂

  2. Abule Ado, ago palace residents and Ladipo market sellers wailers that accused the government of marginalization are no where to befound since 2024 as demolition continues in all parts of Lagos. Last year, people living around VGC to Ibeju Lekki experienced the worst, but the igbos there didnt cry out because they're not propagandist. Some Yorubas lived in the same Abule Ado on the mainland where the propaganda started but wailers must wail and do videos on all social media as if the residential area was reserved for only a tribe. Alaba rago, mile 12, Maryland, Ikota, Eleko, some areas in Ajah experienced the same and nobody is crying. We no go hear their elders call a meeting now o to attack FG . It's now glaring that its not an attack on a particular tribe.

  3. It is imperative that the Lagos State Government prioritizes the establishment of a publicly accessible database or Geographic Information System (GIS) platform, enabling citizens to verify the planning status and zoning classification of properties prior to purchase. Such a system would allow prospective buyers to determine whether a property falls within designated flood zones or areas restricted from development.

Resorting to demolitions after construction has occurred is not only reactive but also deeply unfair to citizens who may have unknowingly invested their life savings into properties approved or misrepresented by unscrupulous developers and real estate agents. It is the government’s responsibility to provide transparent, reliable, and up-to-date information on land use and urban planning to guide public decision-making.

Rather than focusing solely on punitive measures, the government should invest in systems that empower and protect its citizens. Constructive governance should prioritize foresight, planning, and public engagement—principles that are vital to building a more just and sustainable urban environment.

Sometimes I wonder if them swear for us as black people smh!

  4. Lagos state government of Tinubu is destroying buildings that they can never build, why, all for politics. After demolitions, someone will come and speak English. Wicked APC Tinubu Sanwo Iku government

  5. Who approved those land beside canal to the developer, is local government authority not aware of it all ,let be sincere with ourselves, even Lagos town planning must have known about it all, what a wicked people, after spending alot of money , next is demolition,

  6. Why are our people so so obstinate and who's buying properties close to canals and rivers again after all the hues and cries of 2023 and 2024? They deserve whatever comes to them abeg!

  7. Sad. Who approves these in the first place only for the owner to lose afterwards. We need to do better with urban and regional planning bodies.

  8. The Lagos State Government needs a real engineering and technology consultant.
I remember when this same government woke up one day to announce a ban on styrofoam and even went further to tell styrofoam companies to relocate from the state, whereas the solution lay in polymer product refuse disposal and directly or indirectly setting up a polymer recycling plant, which could have provided employment and generated income through product sales.

Now they are demolishing buildings and fences that were built by private individuals with hard-earned money.
As far as floodwater is concerned, water channels can always be designed and redesigned to channel water from one place to another.
It's baffling to see how the government thinks that demolishing people's buildings is the ONLY solution to the flood menace ravaging the state. to manage the environmental system design.

Imagine Engr. Dave Umahi being the governor of Lagos State.
