sorry , if you want to experience the ancient Egyptian life i have to tell you that you will never be able to do that ,,, you see all the Egyptians in Cairo come from different places of origin in Egypt and it is very complicated to explain but these places are where the ancient life is preserved and is far away from tourist's and visitors eyes ,, this is where it is all hidden and still exists ,, even how the houses are built and how people live

I’m Lebanese and was shocked on my first and last time to Egypt
I hope you visit Egypt again sometime and visit Luxor and Aswan (Temples, Nubian village) as well as the Grand Egyptian Museum in Cairo when it officially opens (still has lots of great stuff) that would give your more the experience you were expecting. But as you said you need at least a month to truly experience all the pharaonic, religious and historical monuments in Egypt (too many). Also, the beaches there are amazing both red sea and mediterranean.
