  1. Love the testimonial journey from beginning to present and all the knowledge and experience that came through your journey. Thank you for passing it on to help newbies like myself into the Information Technology field.

  2. Really great video! Though Iโ€™d recommend going CIOS first(which is the A+ and Network+ and then get Security+, because thereโ€™s a lot of info from Net+ that gets used in Sec+, and not really vice versa.

  3. Great video thanx for sharing…im busy with my CCNA studies pushing hard…from South ๐Ÿ‡ฟ๐Ÿ‡ฆ ๐Ÿ‡ฟ๐Ÿ‡ฆ ๐Ÿ‡ฟ๐Ÿ‡ฆ ๐Ÿ‡ฟ๐Ÿ‡ฆ

  4. Great channel. I am student from South Africa, broke, single ๐Ÿ˜ข, living with family that my brother made to make me feel inspired and him being my big brother day to day motivator.

Lately i have been curious on a course i am studying which now in life Getting a job after college could help me out. My question is do you an advice for someone who is in their 20s having suicidal moments but still brush it to put myself back together.

  5. thanks for the video I did a HND in networking and cyber sec never finished the bachelor but looking to get the Network+ and a+ and to try and apply for help desk roles to try go on the IT job ladder. Out of intrest how did you come up with your channel/company name?

  6. I wanted to know which course can I do as manager to aid my abilities to understand what to do when programs fail and to get the computer back up on the system further to under IT jargon and to do system check on my computer.

  7. a couple thoughts as I have been watching this video:

    1. I have never offered my services for free — but this did make it tougher going.
    2. Your job looks an awful lot like mine!
    3. I started out teaching computer science, so your experience in schools is familiar lol
    4. IT in the field and in education are VERY different for sure — teaching it is so fun! We get to basically just share the awesomeness of tech, while in the field it is a lot more problem solving.
    5. education is also very different because kids tend to disrespect their technology and take it for granted HAHA!
    6. I don't think its so important to have a CCNA or A+ specifically anymore. My certificates are actually from all over the place and its helped me a ton.
    7. One of the big problems people have breaking into IT is they look at the shmoozy googlers or AWS employees and programming. These things are cool — but especially as the world is becoming ever-more tech literate, basic stuff is a given by employers. For example, kids know about graphics cards and what the processor relationship to them or how they connect through the motherboard. The world is becoming super computer literate — to work in IT, we need to focus on things that just need to be done, even if the customer could do it (which in my field, they can't) they would rather pay someone else to implement. For me, this is networking with an ISP as a network technician.
    8. Thanks for the share!

  8. Thank you for making another valuable video Joel. My journey in IT also started with "volunteering". Although it was more like employer didn't pay my salary 6 months but I wouldn't mind then as I gained a lot of experience and with that experience got a proper job…

  9. I have been trying to get a job in IT from 2011 to 2014 I gave up because it is so hard. I have two degrees in computer's computer-networking and information system security. yes, an associate's and a bachelor's.but I have no certifications or no real-world experience. I don't really want to get certified because they don't last you have to keep getting certified every three years is a pain. So I cut my loss and gave up. I have been working at a grocery store for the last 10 years of my life, now that I am a lot older than I was previously, I have more drive passion, and dedication. To at least try and see if I could maybe get a job in IT with my degrees. But I still would not like to get certified every three years. I don't mind taking it once pass and done. I have been recently trying 2024 to get a job in the IT field no luck yet. I made a resume and cover letter up to date with my skills and knowledge of my own experience. And if I got to work for free to prove it I will show them I can do it. Never back down and Never give up is the motto I live by today having passion and determination to see it through till the end is what will help me land an IT job in 2024 I just know it. I applied for ten jobs already, my dream job is to get a PC job working from home is my end goal.
