Is this the Historical, Biblical Joseph from 18th Dynasty Ancient Egypt? | Ancient Architects

Those acquainted with the Old Testament will know that Joseph is an important character of Genesis. Son of Jacob and Rachel, in the story Joseph was given a long coat of many colours by his father. He was later sold into slavery by his jealous brothers and Jacob believed him to be dead.

But far from living the life of a pauper in Egypt, he…

  1. The ideas in this video are taken from researcher Ahmed Osman, whose book is available now. I’m not in total agreement with him but it’s certainly an interesting theory. I must also apologise for the cartoon Biblical Images. They’re terrible and obviously white-washed! I wish I could have found something better to use but most images depicting the Bible stories have all the characters as white. Urgh.

  2. Close. Biblical Joseph was actually Djoser. Ramses II is Moses which is why you see his statues everywhere along the Nile. Exodus took place from Meroe to where the pyramids are at which is the promised land. The great pyramid is Solomons temple. Solomon = Khufu. Snefru = David. SETI I is Aaron.

  3. If I followed the time-line, the necessary chronology is centuries-off.

The historical Joseph probably lived during emergence of the Semitic Hyksos in Egypt, — 100s of year before Akhenaten's reign.

Though his revolutionary monotheistic religion, seems a natural consequence of post-Exodus Egypt. — After Judgment on all its gods!

  4. Joseph's mummy was taken to Canaan per the Bible. This timing is all wrong. Joseph was the great grandson of Abraham. He would have come to Egypt roughly in 1,800 BC. This guy is talking about dynasties that were like 1,300 BC. The Exodus happened at just about 1,446 BC. The Temple in Jerusalem was built 400 years after the Exodus (The Jews entered Canaan in roughly 1,400 BC.) I believe Joseph served under Amenemhat III. A great canal called 'The Canal of Joseph' by modern Egyptian was dug under his reign. It still exists. It was dug to increase farm production because Joseph prophesied that a famine was coming.

  5. No this isnt Joseph. His bones were taken out of Egypt in the Exodus—an even which predates this this pharaoh, since Amenhotep II was the pharaoh during the Exodus, so III couldnt have been the pharaoh that knew Joseph. This isnt even remotely correct.

  6. 1. Joseph had two sons, no daughters.
    2. The hebrews before leaving Egypt during the exodus, carried Joseph's remains back to the promised land.
    3. Joshua buried Joseph's remains in Canaan.
    4. Joseph was a vizier, Yuya has no such title.
Bible is very clear, Yuya is not Joseph.

  7. These theories are certainly interesting. But there are far too many "If", "Could have", and "But"s for me to think this is anything other than a bending of historical findings to retroactively fit a Biblical narrative.

  8. Joseph’s remains left Egypt with Moses and the children of Israel. There could be the remnants of a tomb however I think it would have been such a sore subject after Egypt was left destitute after the plagues.

  9. We call Jesus the Spirit of God and His Beloved because he preached Islam in his time and not the current Christianity, and the Iraqi astrologers were the ones who said whether he had another life and would return because he demonstrated against the Roman state that imposed its control in ruling Israel at that time and we followed him.

  10. Joseph body was taken back th Israel to be burried.. And it is foundation truths, NEVER has the Bible been proven to be WRONG…. And you sound like some who has no Idea what he's talking about… Truly you have no idea what the Holy Trinity is for sure…😃

  11. My life seems similar sometimes. excluding the slavery. but the end of the show, I would have broke down. Its all happy tears. I would be sobbing if I could see my family again. But they are dead. not exactly a betrayal but seeing my family for the first time after 20 years, I'd bawl my heart out.

  12. As scientists make up scientific theories, they use theorems that tend to have flawed reasoning. The quality of the scientist is determined by the flawed thinking he produces. So many historians ignore the written accounts that do not confirm their theory. Always the same reasoning. Remember, if you ridicule written accounts, you will get ridiculed as a scientist. You cannot simply pick and choose which written accounts are to your liking, without proving that those written accounts are flawed. Your theory is not proof of written accounts being flawed. For historic accounts to be flawed, you have to: 1. Find the person who changed the written account and 2. Find the reason for changing the written account. Often the reason for change is in one of three causes: Political, Religious and 'Honour'. Many rulers want to proof that they are the just ruler over their country. By changing written accounts, they hope to take away the honour of (usually) an earlier ruler(s). People desire three things: Pleasure, Wealth and Power. People will feel honoured if other people will. talk, write and act in line with what he finds is important. Especially at the end of a person's life, will he seek honour. So, if you will want to ignore written accounts, prove who changed the original written account and with what purpose. Without proof, you just will be a forgotten scientist. Few other scientists will take you serious. Shouting 'nonsense' doesn't do the trick.

  13. Yosef doesn't mean "Son of Yo". Also he wasn't born halfway in Egypt and halfway in Canaan to a mixed couple, he was already a young adult named seventeen years earlier when he want to Egypt, so why would his name incorporate an Egyptian suffix?

If he'd been named "Son of God", which no that's absolutely not a thing that was done among Hebrews, it would have been "Ben-YH", not "YH-seph".

And no, "Yo" is never a variant of "YH" representing the Holy Name. The letter Vav absolutely never represents a letter Heh and the letter Heh absolutely never represents the vowel "o".

Yosef is not a two part name, it is a one-part name Hebrew name meaning "he shall add" from the root word "yasaf".

Also, no, the Holy Name is never, never, incorporated in any human name as just the letter Yud all by itself, it's always Yud-Heh in that construction.

And no, not every Yud-Heh next to each other in a name means that either.

And, again, no Hebrew would have ever named a child "Son of God".

  14. No. Way too late. Joseph arrived in the 1800s. Manetho from 3rd cent. BC identified the pharaoh and the 12th Dynasty. Plenty of other evidence for when Joseph arrived and when Moses led the Exodus.

  15. Joseph's body was taken out of Egypt when the Israelites left Egypt during the Exodus. Therefore, I doubt that the person depicted in this video is Joseph.

  16. He was an African pharoah. Why would African people have a european king in Africa. I can't believe logical people think Europeans are from Africa they were Hyksos.

  17. Joseph’s coffin and mummy was removed from Egypt and would have been in the latter part of the Hyksos reign. Kamose or Ahmose would be the Pharaoh who knew not Joseph, or possibly the last Hyksos Pharaoh. Joseph’s ability to read, and interpret dreams was valuable to Egyptians because Joseph’s lineage was parallel to the Hyksos kings whose ancestors were leaders in city states in Mesopotamia until they were over taken by empires of Mesopotamia. A precedent was set for foreign leaders and that was dismantled by Kamose and allowed again by Ahkenaten, then taken away again by Ay and Horemheb, and Rameses period.

  18. We were always taught that when the Jews left Egypt with Moses they took the coffins of Joseph and his father Nathan? with them so they would be properly buried in the promise land. So how could this Mummy be that of Joseph? Buried in the Egyptian manner?

  19. Amenhotep the third & Akhenaten worshipped the sun called the Aten Tutankhamen changed the worship back to Amun Ra when he became Pharaoh. Yuya & Tuya were Egyptian. Nothing to do with Joseph.
