  1. I don't understand why Egypt could not have looked at that colonial treaty and prepared for the day when other countries would want their fair share of the water. They should have used all those years to invest in an alternative source of water. My understanding is that even Kenya was not allowed to use its water that is destined for the Nile for irrigation, but Egypt can and then come and sell us their produce. How fair is that? I don't know how true it is but I understand that Kenya pours the most water into Lake Victoria. However, I think Ethiopia provides the most Nile water, especially for the Nile in Sudan and Egypt.

  2. All countries must come to the same table and negotiate on the use of Nile water and work together to ensure development . The only way forward is to drop the hegemonic approach and collaborate for the better future . To do so colonial era agreements must be dropped just because there is no fair and equitable distribution of the water on that agreement.

  3. Wongel, since I have not yet seen in writing the Egyptian and the Sudanese objections to the "agreement," it would be helpful for you to go over them one by one. Do they have merit or are they objecting for the sake of it? Are they still suspicious of how the GERD will affect their fresh water supply downstream or not? Don't you think that the rest of the countries upstream have an obligation to convince them that the dam will not do any harm? I think that there is still more work to be done by all the stakeholders, to show that the operation of the GERD will not put the Egyptian and the Sudanese lives downstream in jeopardy now and in the future.

  4. Egypt is suffering from slave mentality. Phick the collective West! We Ethiopians don’t have to deal with your bullshit of slave mentality we are born free and will die free! Middle finger 🖕

  5. Invaders (the non-Africans of egypt and sudan) are never going to be reasonable and righteous when dealing with the invaded. This is because the outsiders Invaded to Dominate, Dictate, Destroy & DISPLACE indigenous peoples.

Hopefully this latest Reasonable & Responsible Agreement among African people will lay the groundwork for future agreements on kicking out the ignorant and arrogant and brazen invaders who have always sought to make Africans out to be 'lesser people' in their own indigenous African Homeland!

  6. Egypt and Sudan need to get their mind right~!!! We taking our sh# back man.. Africa is African.. Not Arab…. The invaders and colonizers, and enslavers have gotten way to comfortable, thinking that Africa belongs to them… This is why Africa must unite and unite now.. take back our lands and our history… Shalom..

  7. Those Countries With Colonist Puppet Leaders Are Showing Their True Colors.

Well Done To Push Forward United African Nations. Keep Going & Ignore The Nonsense 🕉️👏🏾🕉️

  8. Egypt is trying to destabilise east Africa by using various tactics, including playing on religious cards with Somalia because they know that will resonate with Somali people.

But the underlying issue is the deep-rooted racism that some Arab groups hold against Black Africans. This is evident in how Egypt claims the right to control 80% of the Nile’s water, a resource meant for everyone.

We see similar racism against our people across the Middle East. In my own country, Sudan, African Sudanese face large-scale discrimination from Arab-identifying Sudanese.

  9. Do people realize Egypt government is a colonizer just like Israel on Palestine land.

This government thinks it can take the land and history of the black pharaohs of thousands of years …these Arab people who invaded the land.

Didn’t have history in 4000/5000 years in Kemet.
