The reality is that no empire lasts forever, history has proven that fact multiple times. Sooner or later the west will be on its needs, that is guaranteed.

The challenge with Zimbabwe is that there’s no confidence in the govt and it’s policies. The issue isn’t the currency, it’s the govt. secondly, While a gold-backed currency provides stability, it also has limitations. The supply of money in the economy is restricted by the amount of gold held in reserve, which can limit the ability of the government to respond to economic crises or implement monetary policy. Zimbabwe’s hyperinflation is because of the currency printing and there’s no evidence the govt has taken steps to bring economic and financial stability, primarily because it is an incompetent kleptocracy. Many people lose sight of this elephant in the room. Additionally, the value of gold itself can be subject to fluctuations in the global market, which can impact the value of the currency, and there’s evidence the price of gold is being manipulated too.
Today, very few countries use a gold standard or have a gold-backed currency. Most countries have moved to fiat currencies, where the value of the currency is not directly linked to a physical commodity like gold. As much as it saddens me, we’re more likely to see a coordinated global move towards CBDCs than a gold backed system.
