Zambian Food | African Polony (Chikanda)


Ingredients :

1. Water (3-4 Cups)
2. Pounded ground nuts (2 1/2 Cups)
3. Pounded Chikanda roots (1 1/2 Cups)
4. Cooking soda (Zambian)/ Baking Soda (3 tsp)
5. Salt (2 tsp)

Method :

1. Warm some water enough to prepare the Chikanda
2. Add some pounded groundnuts to the water
3. After stirring for a while. Slowly begin to add the pounded…

What can one do if at the end of preparing you discover that you put too much soda and the chikanda is bitter . 🙏🏾

Please stop eating and promoting the eating of orchids. up to 85 species of orchids are being driven to extinction because of this. Zambia's orchids are pretty much gone already and they are now being poached from the wild like rhinos, elephants, pandas, gorillas etc etc.They are not like other plants. They grow really slowly and don't reproduce fast.

MY only problem is that I live in the UK and have not current way to find chikanda roots. Do you know if they have an eenlgish name?naija name or anything else? Im struggling here

i like the thought behind the production but there's need for measurements and instructions at every step. Chikanda is difficult to make, even if one knows the ingredients
