A police officer in Zambia has been arrested for allegedly releasing over a dozen prisoners so they could celebrate New Year’s Eve.
Detective Inspector Titus Phiri “forcibly seized cell keys” on Tuesday morning whilst “in a state of intoxication,” Zambia’s Police Service said in a press release on Wednesday.

I know one officer who does this on a regular basis while sober.
I Call cap. Because this whole story sounds stupid. The only thing is real about it is because it’s in Africa. And even an American police officer wouldn’t get drunk and release prisoners from they’re jail sales. This all sounds suspicious. And the worst thing about it is they keep using and I quote “intoxication” as the narrative copout. Give me a break!
