Benoit was using a diving headbutt move for years and years before ever entering a WWE ring and thats a fact. His brain was already scrambled by the time he left WCW as in Japan he got some absolute beatdowns been a smaller western guy. Benoit only was in WWE for part of his career.
Not excusing Vince but end of the day Benoit's choice of moves and risk hurt himself long before you ever get into the steroids encouraged by WCW/WWE at the time. WCW had Hogan, Goldberg, Nash etc at the top of the card so Benoit got on the steroids before WWE.
If Vince got sued Ted Turner should have also. Basically the same in both companies and in Japan.
