Side note .. there have been many people of different races, playing characters of other races of people… Morgan Freeman was playing a character that was actually a white man in the legendary film, the Shawshank redemption …

I think he chose Glenn Close to play the character to bring even more attention to the film and bring in a more diverse audience as well and to help the film become even more successful …. it was a business decision I’m sure

  2. Why is it when White people act so called hood and ratchet that seen as black culture??? and Black people eat that up but when it comes to acting conservative, sophisticated and intelligent then automatically its associated with being White?

  3. It is hypocrisy if you accept a black in a period movie like an English historical movie where there weren’t any. If you accept a black actress as Juliet in Romeo & Juliet, but are upset with a white woman in a role where the real person was black? That is hypocrisy. It’s ART. It’s acting!! People are so willfully blind.

  4. I understand as well!! I know and have WW friends and associates who are like the character she played!! Everything about them says, "sister," exact skin color!! These WWs just had flavor and swag!! I don't understand what the big deal is!! Did he mean it to attack black women? Don't know much about Mr. Daniel's, but if so, why would I put so much into what he has to say about who any black woman or white woman is or is not? I don't know? For me it's not that important!!

  5. I’m sorry a WW could never be the fabric of the Black community. BM uplifting WW in this way and Black women are agreeing is not the expectation of us I’ve had as we are what has held our community together for so long.

  6. None of my family members speak like that, even if I tried to imagine it with my eyes closed. I grew up in the projects with Southern parents who insisted we speak properly and always show good manners. Stop associating negative traits with us.

  7. We know what he meant by “fabric.” He means most of us have a white family member or friend that has embraced our soul, whether they are so-call ghetto or not. Stop messing with this man and attack who really deserves this rhetoric; the man who has embarrassed the essence of black women and capitalized off it for years… Tyler Perry! Lol

  8. That's not a fabric of our community. That's American Culture, well ratchet american culture. Something you'd see more in down south (for obvious reason) than you would up north. As a northerner 😂 I see ratchet white folk all the time. Ratchet doesn't equal Black, Mr. Daniels.
