World's second-largest diamond found in Botswana | BBC News


The second-largest diamond ever found – a rough 2,492-carat stone – has been unearthed in Botswana at a mine owned by Canadian firm Lucara Diamond.

It is the biggest find since the 3,106-carat Cullinan diamond, found in South Africa in 1905 and cut into nine separate stones, many of which are in the British Crown Jewels.

  2. Will the proceeds from the sale of that diamond go to Botswana to help develop itself and improves the livelihood of local people or go to Canada? That's what I'm interested in.

  3. Remind me of this movie " Blood Diamond " but with a twist in which the greedy, shady countries will be envious, and it will be more like " blood of Africa " … which was mostly the case during the colonialism periods …
