Why We Never Got To See These Movie Sequels

Considering all the sequels Hollywood puts out these days, it’s a wonder that any sequel to a successful movie fails to get made. Yet these never made it to the screen, and we have the reasons why.

#MovieSequels #TombRaider #BlackPanther

District 9 | 0:00
Ender’s Game | 4:56
Wayne’s World | 9:32

Which dead franchise do you want to get a sequel?

I don't know why we would need a GalaxyQuest sequel. It is an obvious parody of Star Trek and that well is too overused and shallow to get a flowing stream from.

I don't think District 9 was quite the commentary on "Racism" Looper would like to think it was. After all, the aliens are super strong, erratically violent, ubiquitous drug abusers, breed at absurd rates, and designed by their nature to be drones… aka… basically slaves. So if District 9 is "racial commentary", it's a pretty racist one.

Blah blah blah, talk is cheap! In order to make a profit studios know that the box office has to make triple what they spent. What the theaters charge has to cover their rental fees, and if no one comes the theaters then collect the minimum from the studios as compensation. Today, studios make movies that cost $100 million to $200 million with most of the cost being the huge salaries the stars demand. None of the movies mentioned made three times their budget, with the only people making money collecting their paychecks. So no, there will be no sequels to any of these movies. EVER!

Black Panther was way overhyped. It was a bang average cookie cutter movie. Got all the praise because it was a black movie

Really bums me out we will never see a sequel to District 9. Especially with how depressing the ending to the first film.

Part of me thinks some movies should just be left alone because a sequel will most likely ruin it. Then I think, no amount of shit sequels can ruin Terminator or Alien.

If studios want to make their money back, it's a shame these sequels weren't produced during the age of DEI: the golden age of killing money with fire.

It’s a shame people wanted T’Challa recast. Like are Downey, Reynolds and Jackman the only ones that get to own a Marvel role
