Does anybody have any idea what that aircraft carrier threw into the water while launching the plane at 18:07 and is that something routine? If you're watching for the splash it's thrown ahead of the aircraft carrier.
It’s not the most powerful carrier outside of the U.S. Navy as it’s way too small, and it only has 4th.Gen. fighters.
With limited budget french are building small but very capable and versatile warfare materials such as Charles de Gaulle or Rafale

It used to be that the Brits came #2 behind us in terms of expeditionary warfare force projection capabilities and capacity but the Brits have really become a shadow of themselves. Meanwhile, the French have been fighting a literally continent spanning war against Islamic terrorstates in Africa nearly on their own for the past five years.. Same people and organizations we were fighting in the middle east have all decamped to Africa and the Russkies have been fucking around actually helping them until a year or so ago, then stabbed them in the back.
