  1. OHH I saw it…. my first one in my life aside from the partal in California 2017. Russellville Arkansas we currently live in moved here in 2022 and didn't even realize of this event.

Now I'm driven Nuts…. and I totally wanna see more…. this was the most beautiful thing I've ever seen in my life

  2. My main take-away from this 2024 eclipse was that, even in the path of totality, it doesn't get THAT dark. It does not get anywhere near as dark as night. It got about as dark as a little after sunset – which is what I originally assumed, but people were hyping it all up so much I was starting to expect the absurd. But no, it just got a bit darker for a short while and then back to normal. Did the temperature change? Not really, maybe a few degrees which was not noticeable. To be honest, it was very anti-climactic, especially after all the ridiculous hype. I guess another take-away for me is to never underestimate the desire people have to hype things up.

  3. Food for thought:
We see the crescent moon every month waxing and waning. Every month the moon is visible, but darkened save for a bright leading or tailing edge of various stages of intensity depending on where in the monthly cycle the moon is.
WHY then are we accepting that the moon was entirely invisible during this eclipse when this should stand out as impossible?! It’s a heavenly body we’ve seen our entire lives in crescent stages…and suddenly instead of essentially seeing a waxing and waning moon, only during the day, the moon is invisible for the first time in history…

  4. Gee this only happens every hundreds of years, but it did just happen in 2017…in the same place.
This light show wasn't anything like what they said, the corona was a narrow intense light with very defined edges, but very thin.

  5. fun fact. due to the geometry of the earth when the moon's shadow strikes the earth it travels across the earth's surface faster than the speed of light, it slows down continuously until its perpendicular with the earth's surface at which point it's moving at the speed of the moon in its orbit, then it accelerates again to super luminal and finally infinite speed just as the shadow leaves the earth.

  6. Future time traveler here. What he says about how fast it changes from day to night is so true. Its crazy how fast it shifts. Also encourage everyone the next go around to view the eclipse when in full totality. Its truly amazing
