Imagine if Somalia 🇸🇴 made a trade deal with Tigray region in Ethiopia who as you may know, have their own regional military & control most of their region and are currently at war against the Ethiopian government.
Somalia recognises Tigray region’s independence bypassing Ethiopia in the process to being the only state that recognise Tigray nation in the UN.
To add insult to injury, Somalia within this deal acquires 50 year land lease of 20 km strip of land in Ethiopia in the Tigray (rebel) region as well while signing an agreement with Tigray to be an independent country
That’s exactly the true equivalent of this situation.
Here’s another example to highlight key important parts missing in my initial example for you to understand.
Imagine if Germany descended into civil war and Russia made a deal with the East Germany that felt their freedoms were being encroached on by the far left bureaucracy of Brussels.
Within East Germany, a pro-western rebels crush East German communist and are on the the brink of collapse. In a desperate attempt East Germany makes a deal with the very old enemy Russia in exchange for recognition and a 50 year military base in East Germany. Russia agrees to recognise East Germany like Luhansk and Donetsk in Ukraine. This is just an example a German could understand.
Somaliland military was routed and crushed by Khaatumo state just a few months ago. Somaliland separatist lost heavily and even their top general and military bases full of equipment captured.
Somaliland in reality is run by a dictator who’s been in power for the past 33 years while rest of Somalia after civil war enjoyed successful and peaceful transitions of power for democratically elected Presidents.
Isaac tribe suppresses minority and dictator Muse Bixi is the head of this 1 tribe that has the audacity to behave like separatists.

The international community that is using the Red Sea should help Ethiopia gain access to the sea and not only for Ethiopia's national interest, but also for the peace and stability of the East African trade route of the Red Sea.
There is one thing that the world does not understand about Ethiopia, Ethiopia is destroying the dangerous and destructive bandits Al-Shabaab in Somalia, East Africa.

They have been effective in stopping Somaliland from being recognized internationally. What right do they have to continue to impose their opinion on another sovereign nation and nations? I know little of this dispute. My only concern is stability in East Africa. Hopefully this can be resolved in a way that doesn't destabilize the region.
