Why Rassie isn't really bothered about the Rugby Championship! PLUS: Perth Preview! @Springboks

The Springboks have controversially named one of the least capped starting teams in recent memory to maintain their lead in the Rugby Championship. MW and Harry debate how much that championship really matters in Rassie’s grand scheme!

Perth will provide a few more answers than Brisbane!

  1. The reason why I'm optimistic about the game is that I trust the system. These guys have been shadowing the main team for a while now. They've been the opposition. They've had 100s of minutes of live scrums. If these lads do their jobs, they'll take Australia by 10+ points. Just do your job. First priority. Then the individual brilliance can shine through. There are some brilliant individuals in this team. Bokke!

BTW, hierdie is besig om een van my gunsteling kanale te raak!

  2. Hey Harry, love your enthusiasm. Your love for the game shines through. Could you please if you have time post your nick name list? Dankie MW dat jy die program vir ons doen!

  3. You guys really do work well together and both have an ability to bounce off each other’s ideas and be genuine in understanding of a new or different perspective

Well done! A truly professional podcast and being informative and leave the listener to make up their own viewpoint

  4. Yes my show!! – side note : Tomas did very well this year and some of our other front row stalwarts dint go so well in the same UK league. Tomas deserves a crack. Super underrated and is still young enough for a few years.

  5. At 17min in you spoke about the venture capital deal and how we structured it differently to ab ABs.
Could you please do a deep dive into this and do piece for the layman to understand what is going on there.

    Dankie.

  6. Thanks guys.
Really love this pod combo and how you2 go about the opinions.
Everything said is weighted and with justification. (This is heavily lacking in 99% of other pods I listen to)

    Dankie. Ons wardeer julle!!

  7. Yes agree the Championship per se doesn’t matter for me and maybe Rassie as you claim. BUT every match matters to Rassie and the fans. WE do care about each result.

  8. You are totally wrong! Rassie cares about this competition. What national coach does not care about a competition his team participates in! There are so many of you guys on youtube looking for views and likes and of all of them, you must be the worst!!

  9. Rassie has evened out the playing field with the Bok selection, there's no point fronting your most capped players against a weaker team, the young Boks need game time and there's not many tests where he can do it. This will be a learning curve for the Boks way more than for the Aussie, Aussies want a win, Boks want to win and build depth so it's almost as if Rassie isn't giving Joe that privilege playing the best most experienced team hence the old age accusation, "you disrespecting us with a B team" attitude.
It's actually the other way round, the Aussies would be disrespecting the Boks if they only wanted to play the so called "A" team.
I like it and if the Boks win it's really setting a benchmark going foreward.

  10. 41:17 Interesting one raised by Harry on the halfback pairing caps. One that instantly comes to mind is the infamous Gaffie du Toit/Dave von Hoesslin combo in 1999 when the ABs did us 0-28 at the old Carisbrook House of Pain. I doubt they had more than 10 caps combined vs Marshall and Mehrtens

  11. Twenty years from now the rest of the world will hail Rassie as one of the greatest coaches the game has ever seen. He is building an unparalleled system of continuity of talent that hasn't been seen before. He builds teams, coaching as well as players from the best available.
