Why Letsile Tebogo Has a Problem with Being a Track & Field Superstar

At the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, Letsile Tebogo became Botswana’s first ever Olympic Champion when he won the gold medal in the 200m Dash.

A few weeks later at the Brussels Diamond League, I spoke with Letsile and he noted that he does not like being a superstar and all the attention he has gotten in the weeks after his gold medal performance….

  1. Lestile is definitely lying when he says he doesnt want to be a superstar… he definitely sees Noah and is jealous of him. Its a facade he wears to try and cover up his jealousy. You can tell he wants fame. Hes just boring, and doesnt bring anything entertaining to the sport. Bolt never wanted fame, it came to him because he was the fastest man alive. Lestile hasnt done anything for the sport, and hes living in Noahs shadow and hates it

  2. 1:52 I just realised whilst looking at the 3 Tebogo’s that he’s got some hair again! His hair reminds me of 2008 Bolt’s hair lmao. He went bald earlier in the season but it’s clearly grown back haha.

  3. You don't prove your humility by boasting about it. Noah showboats but EVERY major win by Tebogo is accompanied by him showboating so there is no point there. When he was condemned for dunking on Nkrumie his defense was that he trying to be like Bolt. That shows what he thinks about Bolt too. Noah is getting himself and others PAID because he is the guy putting himself out there to draw new eyes for the sport same goes Shacarri. They know how to go viral and bring attention to themselves and the sport. Talking with the feet is smart for a person who hasn't yet figured out how to effectively speak with mouth and feet but it isn't some kind of virtue.

  4. He needs to talk to Anthony Nesty, the record breaking Olympic gold medal swimmer from Suriname to see how he handled the fame being from a small, remote country. They put that cat on their national money lol!

  5. Mmmm he's a bit disingeious about being quiet and not flashy. The way he grandstands at the finishing line when he crosses the line is flashy and attemtion grabbing. That's not the action of the reserved and quiet person.

  6. You re lying ,Tebogo is not an over night celebrity he s been likeable since 2021 after breaking the world junior record. And Botswana won its first Olympic medal in 2012 when Nijel Amos won Silver in the 800m in 2021 Tokyo Olympics we won the bronze medal in the 4x400m.

Get your facts right because im from Botswana 🇧🇼

  7. I don’t know I feel like tebogo tries to be quiet, He’s quiet but at the same time he is arrogant too not bad as Noah lyles but I see some type of arrogance in him after races I see him becoming the next Usain bolt he has a little flashiness to him, Yohan Blake, Asafa Powell, Andre Degrasse to me was more gentleman of the sport.

  8. When you're a great athlete like Tebogo, avoiding the spotlight carries as much weight as seeking the spotlight. Everyone loves a mystery. A large part of Sydney Mclaughlin's charisma is because she doesn't race that often and shies away from the spotlight.

  9. Bolt didnt talk much…Tebogo is the same…silent is not weakness…he knows what he must do…conserving all that he wants to talk about ….for whats to come….
