I left the Philippines in 1990 and migrated on a working visa as a nurse to the USA. I’m fortunate to have left the poverty but I wish I didn’t have to leave. I always tear up whenever I go back to the Philippines and leave again.

The Philippines is already expensive as it is with lot prices in Nuvali of 50k per square meter. $236,000 to purchase a 300 square foot lot and a land to buildiby ratio of 4 to 1 puts these homes at over $800k USD in the Philippines. So yes change must first be from each individuals, to local governments, then most importantly to the leaders.
