Alot of people seem confused in the comments. Its not that hes "giving his opinion" and people are getting mad. Its he's giving his opinion like its a fact an everyone else is wrong while having the most outlandish opinions ever heard. Dude thinks mumble rap is actually good like the only people that think that are the people that lost all thier brain cells drinking lean and popping Xanax.

"You don't know music if you're not familiar with Anthony Fantano." That's the dumbest thing I've heard today. So, the gist of your video is rappers and their fans play gatekeepers of who can listen to and review rap albums. smh. On top of that, these rappers and their fans are overtly sensitive when this guy criticizes a rap albums, and try to dismiss the criticisms via gatekeeping (i.e. white people aren't qualified to review artists that are black). Rappers and rap fans need to grow some balls if one guy's opinions on an album leads to them having a temper tantrum them over said review..

Rockers (like myself) don't respect him either for pretty much the same reasons. I feel for you guys. The dude is insanely inconsistent with his standards/what biases he's measuring against! And if there's one thing a critic should be, it's consistent to their own set of biases they're measuring against.

Why would any artist care about the review of some guys from You Tube who never released any music?
It tells you all you need to know about him reviewing cherry bomb in 30 hours from release, he obviously only doing this for a living nothing wrong with that but people should not use his reviews as a guide for good music.
Antony has an album perspective and a lot of commercially popular hiphop albums are actually not that good even some of great rappers. My beautiful darl fantasy was off but others were spot on. Great hiphop artists are earl sweatshirt, lupe fiasco, billy woods, tyler the creator, kendrick, mf doom, denzel curry, run the jewels, freddie gibs and there are artists that arent so good like migos, jack hurlow, pop smoke, 50 cent after his first albums,…..

hip hop sucks , there is literally no talent involved in it . Back in the 9Os at least they could write a good song today, there is not ONE hip hop album you can listen to the whole album and love it . NOT ONE .

This is where I get lost. If an artist releases an album, public and accessible to all, it seems idiotic to me to 'restrict it' to just a group of people. I’m a middle-class guy living in Argentina in the 2000s; obviously, a 2Pac album from the '90s won't resonate with me in the same way, but that doesn't mean I can't listen to it and give my opinion from my perspective and with my experience. Aren't we getting upset over anything these days?

I quit respecting him after he came after Linkin Park’s newest album. Some valid points but he probably doesn’t like it because it’s not rap or hip hop
I never understood a lot of the hate he gets, some people can’t accept the fact that not everyone is going to agree 100% with your opinions, he has his own opinions like everyone else has and he gets hate for just being honest. His goal with his reviews isn’t to invalidate your opinions, it shouldn’t be taken personal.

I don't really know anything about this guy. In his own words hes a guy on YouTube with an opinion, so at the end of the day if he hates what you love, fkk it keep listening to it. Honestly I almost never agree with fantanos takes, but its really frustrating how people disagree with him and DONT WATCH THE ACTUAL REVIEW. All they do is skip to the end of the video, see the rating and thats that, rarely ever do they put in the effort to listen to the video itself and actually pull off a constructive piece of criticism. Its always just "This take is bad" and never what makes it bad. If you don't explain why you disagree with smth on the internet, the opinion becomes worthless because no one can see your POV,
