Any person who suggest this topic will kpai by Ogun. Nigeria is a Country of its own not under any other country rules. Nigeria should allow foreign military base if she already has military base in that foreign country. Otherwise it make no sense because they will serves as spy to its president and may interfer in our government
Calm down fellow Nigerians. Nigeria has no military base in any of the two Countries. Therefore we should stop the worries over them having bases in an exchange or compensation. As long as we owe them no Pledge . Our leaders cannot be so myopic or parochial to such extent that they will ever engage in such deal.
I am totally surprised n disapppointed at the man speaking in favour of rehabiation of the so-called boko haram repentants. His statement is so cowardice because he is begging or compromising the truth. That is program of rehabitation is an absolute evil in nature n a part of grand scheme to islamatize Nigeria. Russia wants to establish a military base in Niger, Nigeria needs to counter their evil geopolitical influence by acfepting US military base. If nigeria dont make a choice, a choice will make Nigeria. I dont think US had any other interest in Nigeria than to counter the riseof global terrorism and put russia under check

Before you know it, Ghana will accept their invitation and they attract more tourists and thereby boosting their economy. It will be their selling point to foreigners to come to Ghana for safety. To everyone who has commented on this US/France issues, I greet you. First, I'm against French military base and for the US military base and here is why. What do we stand to gain from the US military base?. It serves as a deterent to local terrorist group and jihadist outside Nigeria. It provides free security for Nigeria because terrorist and Johadist will think twice before they attack local people. The US military has better intelligence to help Nigeria prevent attack and possibly go on the offense before it happens.
THE US base can also provide training for our military personnel. They will be using their own dollar to build the base and lease the land from the state and the federal government.
If Niger allows Russia, why not allow The US military to establish a base in Nigeria. The base will close provide jobs for some Nigerians looking for work. Developed nations like England, Saudi arabia, Japan, Italy, Germany and South korea have military bases in their country. These countries aren't stupid and are not afraid of the US taking over their country.
The problem with Nigerians is ignorance of our people including Phd holders who gives educational analysis that makes no sense. The point is the advantage of having US military base is enormous. I don't see any disadvantage except for fear among the northerners and the dividers, the Biafra.
