Somaliland does not hold sovereign statehood and will not get international recognition unless Somalia permits it. Let me highlight they they have the same culture, they speak the same language and same religion please tell how they’re different to any of the other Somali states. Somalia is ruined by clans and I’m hoping us younger generations can realise the problems associated with clans.

It's a lot like Tibet: When the Qing Dynasty fell, Tibet suddenly reminded everyone they'd actually never been part of China. The British (who controlled neighboring India at the time) decided to agree, and China didn't have much of a government (like Somalia now), so it didn't matter much that they disagreed. However, in 1950, China finally did have a government again, so they reasserted control over Tibet by force, and now India and China have this dispute over whether the border treaty they signed with Tibet is valid.
On the other hand, Somalia and Ethiopia's border dispute has little to do with Somaliland, and it's actually every part of the border BESIDES the Somaliland-Ethiopia border that's usually drawn dashed on maps. (Apparently the UK didn't clearly define the border between British Somaliland and Ethiopia, but I guess the Italians did, maybe because they lost WW2, whereas the British won it, fighting on Ethiopia's side? Another possible issue that Somalia once tried to take over the Somali region of Ethiopia, back when Ethiopia was facing an insurgency against it's unpopular communist "Derg" government, though I don't know if Somalia's dictator was any more popular.)
