  1. This happened to my aunt.
    We tried to warn her.
She won like 25 thousand and gave him and his family almost all of it.
Now she's broke and back in the us having to work again instead of retired.
She doesn't post about him a lot but apparently they are still married.
He made excuses that his nieces need money for school or mom is sick and etc.
It's crazy that she fell for it but oh well… 🤦🏽‍♀️

  2. Well, there is a huge price to pay, being European or American, when love, marriage, and family is sacrificed for money. So, we (they)long for it right?
I heard a quote from a movie by Brad Pitt, "America is not a country. Its a business ".
💯 true. People are just seeking balance.

  3. This happens all over the world. It's not as "out" as in Gambia. In small Latin Caribbean countries that I am from, it's not so much a age thing. But definitely race, economics and cultural differences. White women marrying and having children with island men. It chances his life. You go from struggling to survive to moving to a better side of the island. Even better you get to come to US or Canada and you disappear into a white culture. When you break up and if there are kids they are lost to the family because she takes them. Its a lot of nuances and the history of racial and economics is ignored..

  4. But another thought provoking question. Why the Gambian ? It’s not the only English speaking country in west Africa, is life that bad for young guys there ? Because this isn’t very common in Ghana or Nigeria or other “British colonies.”
