Who is Tyla? The South African beauty has a bright future ahead
You mightâve seen videos circulating on social media recently of a mysterious stunning beauty sitting pretty next to Kim Kardashian at the Dolce & Gabbanna show in Milan this past weekend. And if youâre anything like us, you had to do a double take thinking âwho IS that?â because even throught the screen, her star quality is palpable.
The moment, of course, belonged to South African singer Tyla Seethal. Not only did the the 21-year old star stand-out amongst A-list guests, she also performed at the D&G after party, wearing a bustier from Kim Kardashianâs D&G Spring Ready-to-Wear collaboration. According to her label, this was Tylaâs âfirst-ever fashion debut.â

Tyla is currently on tour with Chris Brown for his Under the Influence tour in Europe, but already has a growing fanbase in her own right.
She found fame when she released her debut singles Getting Late and To Last in 2020. It didnât take long for her songs to go viral on TikTok, leading to her getting millions of streams from all over the world.
Tyla says she never anticipated that Getting Late would permeate beyond South Africa, let alone the US.
Born and raised in Johannesburg, Tyla is of Indian, Zulu, Mauritian and Irish descent. She started penning songs in her diary at just 12 years old, which led to opportunities for her to write and sing more often as a high schooler.
In 2021, she scored a global record deal with Epic Records, and her careerâs been on the up-and-up ever since.
Earlier this year, she released her hit single âBeen Thinkingâ, and in February, attended the Grammy Awards after party where she was pictured with R&B sensations HER and SZA.

âTylaâs music pushes boundaries. Her plans for this year include creating and releasing her debut studio album, and if her career thus far ia anything to go by, her future looks so so bright.
