Who Is North to Alaska?

Our most requested video! When we began our YouTube journey, we hopped right into projects, never really introducing ourselves or explaining why or how we moved. We are Katie and Chris and this is our story.

Thank you for supporting our channel!

  1. Absolutely great Video, interesting to shear part of the journey of your lives, hope it all works out for you both. Following with interest. Living in a temperate part of Australia, its kinda hard to imagine living in the conditons that you both live in, but nonetheless facinating.

  2. I am also from PA. We bought raw land in Alaska and built a house (well, septic, house, road access) too. We drove up with a skid steer. We sold the house and bought the fixer upper next door and are renovating it. We have 20 acres and plan to build another new house once we are done with renovations. Being a PA gal, Alaska feeds my soul. And I also appreciate the freedoms. Bear and moose are frequently on the porch or driveway. Stay safe!

  3. Congratulations on your move which took a lot of smarts and fortitude. You made the right decision at the right time of life. I understand all of the positive reasons and the negative motivating factors. You and your kids will live a life that is safer and free from many of the negative factors changing the culture in the former USA. Will look forward to construction of your home and outbuildings. I would also love to see utv trails throughout your woods. The peace of mind you will have from this lifestyle has great value beyond money. I would love to have you two for neighbors.

  4. Moose are very dangerous animals. Carrying a gun with a Moose around is a no brainer. Thank goodness for the 2nd Amendment. Luke at Outdoor Boys was raised in Alaska. He'll tell you how dangerous Moose are. 😊

  5. Thanks for the back story. Sorry about the hip thing but those can be replaced easy these days just know they are only good for 10 maybe 15 years before you needs another one, but brother, best choice I ever made….it was easier the 2nd time. Makes such a difference with mobility. I look forward to to watching your stories. lol, really why do you have guns, they ask; honestly you live in the freaking wilderness where sapiens are NOT top of the food chain. Moose flat do not care, they will go and do as they please!

  6. Moose are entering the mating season this time of year and males do get very territorial during that time. That is also the time to harvest one of them for your food throughout the year if you have means of preserving it.

  7. Yes on the RV restoration. Also, perhaps you might be able to save one of the fireplaces from the old cabins and use it for an outdoor cooking area/patio. People are building them all over on the web and you might have a head start if it looks like it would stand up to it.
I envy you your cabin and it will be fun going along with you as you progress.
Take care, Keep warm, remember to have some fun every day,

  8. I may have already commented on you guys videos. I just watched the one where you guys explained things. Again everything you guys do is great you're probably one of the best ones on YouTube. You do a great job on everything you do and you're very good at video just keep up the good work. You are a very cute couple and you seem to get along very well.

God bless you and keep it up

  9. If anyone watched ANY Alaska channels, they wouldn't ask, "Why do you carry?" New subscriber. Looking forward to your journey and adventure. Nurse Judi in Scottsdale AZ and Eucharistic Minister 🙏🏻 God bless you 🙏🏻 both g

  10. Just found your channel and started just watching your playlist through from the start. I decided to skip to this one just to see how you ended up in Alaska and this was perfect! Really enjoy your channel/videos so far as im about 15 or so in. You 2 seem to be doing great and have a nice place going for sure! As for videos you think are too boring or we may not care so much about just remember, your in Alaska and most of us are not I would guess. I would watch you clear snow for an hour or clearing brush. I wish i was where you 2 are not in this pit of hell (weather wise) called Florida 😁. Any respite i can get that has snow/cold I take and enjoy immensly! So if you have it and wanna post it I know Ill watch it as will many other! Thanks so much for taking the time/effort it takes to make/post these videos as I have been living vicariously through this type of channel for many many years! Eric and Ariel from Simple living Alaska are my favorite show to watch and have been for a LONG time now so you 2 are added to that list!

  11. not sure if this was mentioned but with the bull moose trying to attack your dog.. It could be that the moose would see your dog as a wolf and would be trying to protect itself from it. just a thought on trying to explain its behavior. New to your channel but have subscribed and will be watching your videos!! take care and enjoy living the dream!!!

  12. Greetings from Perth, Western Australia (basically a desert). No matter how boring and dark your videos seem to be, they are ultimately consumable and loved by people who don't have what you have. Just be yourselves and vlog your lives… you have a great formula; capable young people who don't whinge about hardship.

  13. When people ask why you carry a gun, an answer of “America” is good enough. The obvious reasons to carry a firearm for the 4 and 2 legged predators must not be obvious for some.

  14. Great video. So glad you decided to make this video telling your story, and yes, I have been wondering what happened and why you weren't posting. Now I know. Will definitely be waiting for more. Thanks for sharing your story with us all.

  15. I'm considering doing a cargo trailer conversion to live in for a while so would be interested in the video on how the RV and how it's fared for you.
