  1. I’m going to try falafels with wild garlic, it’s the most delicious green salad on the planet. Instead of regular garlic and cilantro, wild garlic would be sooo much tastier!

    The materials from which we make falafel are legumes and are tough, and many people find it difficult to digest them

    I think the Egyptian recipe lack of somting important and gives the Falafel a strong flavor and unique in addition to the fave beans

    Leek (in arabic Korrath) put some green fresh leek with the green vegetables, some coarse grounded coriander, and i guarantee you will fall in love

  5. Haha! I have done that today. I used to use the mixture from the market which was awful and decided to make a fresh one and turned so good. My recipe is similar to your too.

  6. Well you didn’t describe the whole version of this dish
    there is Egyptian syrian and the Iraqi
    you might see others like Jordanian or Turkish but they mostly are copy of the one of the three versions
    i personally like the iraqi because it is very Crispy and it mostly look like donut 🍩 it has hole in the middle

  7. I normally make the half chickpeas half fava beans mix, and it works great. One suggestion is to add fresh green peppers to the parsley/onion etc mix, which gives it improved flavour.

  8. I didn’t know the garlic sauce is so simple to make at home. Thank you for your wonderful Falafel recipe of combining both chickpeas and Fava beans. Must try your recipe secret next time I make it.

  9. This recipe didn’t work for me. Falafel immediately disintegrated in the boiling oil. I had to add flour to the mixture to make it stick together.

  10. My Mom would make the combo version, but the addition of coriander and cumin and actually a little lemon juice. I love the combo. Both are good on their own too. Thanks for sharing.

  11. Great video, thank you. Just wondering if you could fry in olive oil in pan, rather than deep fry? Or use an air fryer? I understand the oil is important for flavour and colour but I would never cook with seed oils.

  12. I just want to clarify an important point.
    Falafel made from hummus grains served in pita is an Israeli invention invented in 1882 by Saadia, a Jewish worker who came from Yemen in 1881, in a settlement called Rishon Lezion.
    The name is just not Israeli – because it was convenient to call it falafel to fit into the food that was in the region – the original falafel was made of fava beans and not hummus like the Israeli product – served in newspaper and not in a pita like the Israeli one – and called in Egypt TAMIYA – and not falafel!
    Even in Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, who used to serve falafel made of fava beans in newspaper – they started serving it like the Israelis invented, hummus grains served in a pita with salads!
    Hummus falafel = Israeli
    Falafel from fava beans = Middle Eastern
