Phase 1 of the Instant karaoke converter.
My last iPad was a plain old 6th gen iPad with a Logitech keyboard and Apple Pencil.
I wasn't impressed and gave it to my wife who still uses it.
This morning I was trying to show her a numbers worksheet and there were 52 apps that needed to be updated, and Numbers would launch and die. I ended up having to reinstall Numbers after updating the OS and all the apps to get it to work.
I then had to use that awful cramped Logitech keyboard to update the worksheet, and didn't see the Pencil anywhere – all in all a terrible experience (though TBH the iPad worked pretty much as well as the day I first got it in 2018).
I'm thinking I'm going to get an 11 inch iPad Pro after I get my iPhone 16 Pro Max – I can get the 1 TB Cellular model, then add a Magic Keyboard and Pencil Pro later.
That'll make for a great instant consumption device that'll be way faster to pick up and go and use anywhere than my 16" MacBook M1 Max.
I'm retired now so I don't need a full fledged computer most times – just like I don't have to use Excel any more.
I absolutely love this podcast! It's both refreshing and incredibly informative.

the kid with the baseball cap is annoying
2:10 That's an ambient light sensor
They didn’t move the Apple Pencil to the other side because of right handed users. I’m a lefty and face this issue daily, and they won’t make right handed people deal with that
I can see these guys being intimidated for having you on the podcast hahaha, way to go Marques
Oh no marques is a dts watcher 😭😭
Jesus is it a fingerprint magnet though..more so than my MacBook it seems.
why are they even making iOS and A series iPhone chips if they can fit that kind of power into a chip the size of the M series chips and an OS that basically mimics iOS/MacOS across all of Apples devices? For that Matter why arent they all just running one uniform OS that just does updates specifically for each device when a new update goes live over the air? Genuniely curious so looking for the tech heads in the comments who are smarter than me and can help provide insight into techincal/hardware constraints beyond things that are solvable through engineering/ingenuity (that this company literally rode to a trillion dollar valuation) because I just don't get why they don't make it one cohesive OS or why they don't slap an M4 chip into the next iPhone and call it a day on questioning which phone has the best specs.
Apple is so behind tech. Tech is so sad in this world. Speaking from an IT Engineer with a Masters in computer science with over 30 years in IT and I own almost every device that has hit the market.
yeah nor the greatest tech podcast
I would argue that 95% would be happy with an iPad 10
4% happy with the air
1% happy with the pro
This is my first iPad Pro and my second ever iPad, I had the mini 6 before so the screen upgrade is gorgeous and feels much better. But I’m probably still going to use it the same way unless I try and get into some drawing again😂
I don’t know anyone who used the ultra wide on the iPad Pro. There probably was someone, but this is a scanner and at a push emergency photo device.
They didn’t move the pencil to the short side because there’s something there called SPEAKERS that would be blocked. Man …..this dudes a multimillionaire too
Why did they move the camera (acknowledging that most people use the device in landscape) but not rotate the Apple logo?!
Can we also point out that the iPad Pro 11 (M4) doesn’t fit in any protective cases from the previous generation? 🤷🏾♂️
Great video. This is the reality of "form over function". The aesthetic and visual appeal of a the iPad Pro design is given priority over its practical purpose and functionality. No Apps can take advantage of the powerful CPU. So performance is not really a factor? Just the same iPad just "thinner" with a "new`'pencil. Running the same Apps, for a higher price! Good luck Apple!
