What’s behind the US generational divide on Israel’s war on Gaza? | Inside Story
Polls suggest an increasing number of young Americans are siding with Palestinians and growing critical of Israel. Successive US administrations across the political divide have backed Israel since it was created in 1948. But polls suggest that public support for Israel in the United States now appears to be waning, especially among young…

Don`t get your hopes up, Socialist fools support you, the Right don`t and never will. You don`t understand the word "independent" or the concept of "sovereign citizenry" which is too sophisticated for your very basic brains.
You were a backward ppl who were desert wanderers. We explored and found, extracted shipped and sold your oil for you. You`d still be riding camels and eating dates sitting in tents elsewise.

What is the gap? Simple. Those under 50 have the internet. They've used it to meet and learn about others around the world. They communicate, they learn and aren't afraid of making change. Those elected, have lived a sequestered life in a bubble. These selected few don't know anything about the world except what they have been indoctrinated, bribed and paid to do. They are vain and arrogant with the depth of a shallow puddle. They think they are untouchable.
Age 68, our generation was fooled too, but not the case anymore!
2+2=4, we teach our students, they have learned.
It's amusing that US students would advocate for the rights of the Palestinian people, but what I want to know is; if the Palestinians were given the same rights to free speech and association from Hamas and the PA as the wealthy students at Colombia, what would they say? Death to Israel? From the river to the sea?
America must respect “freedom of speech” for all its young American citizens.
The guy from Leeds University nailed it.
You also have to keep in mind that the oldest Americans are overwhelmingly white whereas half of the youngest adults are people of color. It’s not going to be as easy for a white, Western power structure to convince a bunch of black and brown kids that the mass slaughter of a civilian population of brown people (mostly women and children) is a necessary component to bring civility in that region. It also doesn’t help when you basically have all these white people on the pro-Israel side making Palestinians out to be savages and blame them for their own deaths while accusing the other side of anti-semitism.
In short, zionists, their white allies and Western governments talk about and treat Palestinians in the same way they did Black (and other people of color) in preceding eras.
It is simple. The newer generations aren't as brainwashed
There is no change in isreal. They've always been sadistic, cruel and depraved. It's just that the world gets to see it now.
You are never too old or too young to stand for humanity!
Generation Z Americans have consistently stood up against bullies in support of all kinds of oppressed people. They give me hope for the future.
I am sixty and I am against genocide
Are the Boomers in political power? The old guys (80's) are not Boomers.
On 25 January 2006, Hamas won the election, securing 74 of the132 seats while its rival Fatah only won 45 seats. The outcome of the election shocked the world and meant that Hamas would take over most of PA's institutions. Hamas tried to form a unity government with Fatah,
but the offer was rebuffed. Meanwhile, Israel and the US imposed sanctions on the
PA in order to destabilize the Palestinian government so that it would fail and new elections would be called. Those efforts
were ultimately unsuccessful but led to a rift between Hamas and Fatah. (copied and pasted)
PA- Palestinian Authority
It's a bit of factual history. There is so much history.
We should ALL know the history of the Middle East. To fully understand the war between Israel-Palestine.
There is a major difference between Judaism and Zionisim. (The World Zionist Organization)
Another topic we ALL must learn about.
There is so much information about their past, from verified platforms, books, podcasts…. that are non-bias. Mainstream media are a prime example of political bias.
It is so important to educate ourselves. It is the only way we will not get manipulated to believe nor convince us to support THEIR government agenda.
The government really thinks we are stupid, or easily fooled.
Just wanted to post this…. do not let yourselves get distracted.
They don't want us to pay attention.
We must always defend humanity
Biden is not a Boomer. The Boomers are 1946 – 1964. The oldest Boomer is now 78. How old is Biden? 80+ They are called the Silent Generation.
I'm 63, I stand by Palestine 🇵🇸. Love from Nigeria 🇳🇬

Israel is a democracy?!!!!
❤️🙏
I’m 34, and I support a free Palestine.
The cause for the generational divide is much simpler than all that. The young people have not been corrupted by lobby bribes or influenced by "war on terror" propaganda. Otherwise, no one needs a "sense of despair caused by anxiety over climate change" to know that killing of innocent children, bombing of hospitals with hundreds of innocent suffering people inside, and genocide are terrible things that need to be opposed.
It’s not a generational divide, it’s a divide between those with humanity and those without.
