The notion is not from no where, they are being indoctrinated the western way. And I’m certain we all have noticed what a failure that is so the wise African must spend time with his/her children and remold whatever they have put in the child’s head.
Our competitive spirit is what makes most first generation Africans prosper in the west but the minute you move to third generation, they will just be as laid back and nonchalant as the rest of the westerners

There curriculum is my fear, our kids in Nigeria are wey ahead. Two years old children sing the numbers 1-20 sef.
Great video, I like the fact that kids are not rushed to do things , everything is step by step which makes the competitive spirit less existential and at the same time the kids don’t develop envy or jealousy, which is a big bad factor for us back home.
I love this system at the end they will eventually learn A to Z and numbers , it’s a matter of building the child’s creativity

Here the driver move away from you. There are different stops, respect for pedestrian but we don't have that in Nigeria. They will keep honking and curse your mother for sending you to the road😂😂😂. The level of independence is the issue, it's much work for me to relate with my son😢😢 but I know God will help me as I put in the effort.

The education part😂😂😂😂😂. I had to laugh first, my Daughter's first day of school grade 2, she said we did writting and Arts. Egbami, whats that. So there was this friday there was no school, so on Thursday when she came back i asked her what did you do today? She said nothing we did pretend friday, my sister this was on thursday o. Another day she said we went to the Gym, aunty kilon kan mi pelu gym? Which school work did u do? My girl said we were mostly in the GYm😂😂😂.

That academic step down worries me too. They get very relaxed and laid back because everything seems so easy n effortless so they no longer put in effort to read.

I agree we really take time to grow up in Nigeria,our parents are over protective and don't let us get exposed early.
