  1. Absolutely wild that a channel which prides itself on being neutral and nonpartisan treats opinion polling about abortion going in “the right direction” as a “good news story.” Obviously, that’s a reasonable opinion to have, but going out of your way to take sides on one of the most divisive issues in the largest English-language country is hardly a neutral or unbiased take.

  2. "If you don't agree with a point the anti-woke community makes, you're immediately considered woke. If you don't agree with a point the woke community makes, you're a fence sitter. It's like NO, it's called having a DAMN OPINION."

I lean center left, and my stance on abortion is quite clear – it SHOULDNT be used as a form of contraceptive, it SHOULD be legal, women SHOULD have that say over their own bodies, and much anything after T1 is borderline murder. I'm VERY much so in the middle on this issue.

  3. I’ve never seen the sudden death of a president be treated with such a global collective shrug. Maybe because he was flying over mountains in the fog in a helicopter…

  4. There are two sides to this Zuma ban.

    1. It is good because Zuma should spend the rest of his life in prison for his role in the state capture and institutionalising severe corruption. It is difficult to explain how much damage he has done to SA's future. Yet he is out of prison, the ANC is still corrupt. The law does not apply to them, so it is good that it is being applied for once. Good precedent.

    2. It is bad because the ANC feels threatened by Zuma (a Zulu) stealing their Zulu voters and potentially taking KwaZulu-Natal Province from them, therefore this ban could very well have a corrupt political element to it. Of course Zuma should not be allowed to run a party, but this ban might be less about principles and more about the ANC being desperate to remain in power as support for them diminishes. What's stopping the ANC from using legal/political methods to silence opposition more often? Bad precedent.

Honestly, SA should be a federation like Switzerland, and undergo extensive democratic and anti-corruption reform. This prevents parties like the ANC dominating provinces the size of countries, and ensures that each ethnic group's main cultural population areas are protected and maintained. Like Lesotho is Sotho and Eswatini is Swazi, other cultures should also be able to protect their cultural heritage without ANC soft ethnic cleansing practices.
