  1. Look this woman up online. She's not even a programmer, she's a public speaker and lgbt instagram influencer… Yet microsoft chose her to gaslight us into getting a CS degree in current year.

  2. in reality computer science is very advance field but in studying it in university you can't learn it actually it is all about practicing..
in university the will just teach you theory ..

  3. I'm in a little island of Trinidad, and I really wish I had the opportunity to do a computer science degree, not an IT degree.
I have been doing C/C++ for a while, and a few of the open source technology associated with web development.
I have also done some work with writing simple language parsers for scripting engines.
And I'm now trying to move into yacc and bison territory.

  4. Basically it won’t teach anything
It depends on how you learn this stuff, and if you give the priority to the programming language only or to the full life cycle of building a project

  5. First, it will teach you critical thinking, espially important if you are from China or Eastern Europe. It will give you info in structured, efficient and sufficient way. Then you are checked if you get it. (If university is good). Saves tons of effort and frustration, adds to quality. But this knowledge is being fundamental is broad, and you may spent all this time to be super specialised on smth particular, to solve some problem.
