Does a ball go further with a regular flex shaft vs a stiff shaft if your swing speed matches a regular shaft?
In my game the more flex I try the more right it goes.

You may have just turned me pro 😅 I'm hitting just a tad shorter than you with my 7 but I have regular flex graphite Fujikara Qi series. I'm constantly drawing or hooking so I know now I need stiff shafts. And maybe an extra stiff driver. Great video and thank you!

That's definitely a excellent video! I hope the people indes what you try to say and what really essential is… For alone is important to feel my clubhead and to get a similar feeling of the shaft as I'm grown up with. And I'm a dynamic gold guy, most s400 playing. If i now want a change of from the 132gramm heavy weight shaft to a light version, i try to find a shaft with similar flexibility over the hole profile. And so I already asked you before whether a ns pro 105 is similar or not or a money taper kbs. And because of that i maybe will take a ns pro 105, but u will step them harder so that the ball flight gets down and becomes more penetrating, similar like the dynamic gold does. Thanks for your great advices!
problem is that the ligher shafts dont come in x-stiff. Also lie angle has a big effect on left and right dispersion
Could you end up in different flexes in different clubs in your bag if you fall on that line between 2 flexes?

Been playing the same x100s, tiped 1/2 inch in my last 10 or so sets of irons. Basically been playing the same set up in a titleist MB model since the turn of the century. While still in college I pured & I hand picked each shaft myself with our tour rep (I don’t let anyone else work on my clubs). After testing 100s of shafts (which took a while), they’re all exactly the same weight & feel I was looking for. I have replaced 3 with some back ups though and only have 2 left 😬. Recently was out of country and played some rental clubs, they were stock T100s with some S300s and the combination of both a softer shaft & more game improvement irons was glaring. Everything just ballooned & hook like crazy, everything wanted to fly way too far, especially 3/4 shots, they felt very “clicky” off the face, some felt lighter or heavier than others, basically I hated them. Plus they were at least a degree flatter than my gamers so everything wanted to start a bit right. Once you find the right set up that works, it’s hard to want to change anything. I’ve tested tons of different shafts and always go back to the trusty x100s. I was close to gaming some KBS 130g C-tapers though, I liked the slightly lower flight but the shot shapes just didn’t quite fit my eye. 🍻
Hi, I had an iron set cavity muscle and have been using true temper shaft black 90 for like 15 years. The iron set is snake eyes 675c and still looks good. But my distance seems stagnant. By changing to heavier shaft or premium brand, will it makes any difference ?

I know you were talking about steel shafts when you mentioned the 3 aspects of a shaft. For graphite would you add torque as another consideration? Back when graphite shafts were first being discussed, at least that I heard of, torque was a big part of the conversation but I don’t hear it mentioned now.
can a 15 handicap be fitted for Clubs ?
Great video, you might not agree with this, but I think you should play the stiff shafts. The reason why I say that, is because all your misses were to the left and pretty close to each other. The extra stiff shaft you hit some left and some right so your misses are more inconsistent. Knowing what your misses are, will make you a better golfer as well. If you're constantly going from left to right, then that could bite you on one of the holes.

Great explanation! For me I think there’s something mental about it, just seems like seeing an x-flex makes me think I need to try to swing it harder. But I do have a funky set up in my bag…irons are stiff and woods/utilities are x-stiff.
This is the exact opposite of my personal experience. I started out slicing and couldn't stop until I went from regular to stiff shafts.

Great video. For future videos I would love to see the actual flex of the iron shots in slow motion stiff vs x-stiff. I was surprised to see how much a hickory shaft bends in slow motion. Also choosing iron shafts for accuracy VS 3-wood driver for distance. Finally pros are hitting 7 irons 200 yards how is backspin effected vs hitting 7 iron 170.
I played Xgolf today. My 3W broke. Head snapped clean off upon impact. Stiff shaft. I swing really fast. 120.1 mph head speed for driver. I suspect the stiff shaft couldnt hold up to swing speed and reason it broke. Clean strike otherwise. Would you say above a certain speed it affects it more than just L vs R?
