As a Ghanaian I've said it countless times and I'll say it again Ghana isn't doing as well as Nigeria is for these 6 reason's:

    1) Ghanaian's support Nigerian musicians more than they support their own so Nigerians tend to have more success whether they are in Ghana or Nigeria whereas Ghanaian artist are fighting amongst each other like shatta wale and stonebwoy instead of working together. Nigerians always support and promote their own which is why they always find success.

    2) Nigerians use their pidgin English which is fun, easy to understand and catchy for international audiences and allows their language to be promoted but still have that authentic Nigerian lingo whereas Ghanaians mostly use twi or which obviously people can not understand so the masses do not listen to Ghanaian musicians. The funny thing is Ghanaians also have our own pidgin but for some reason we don't use it to our advantage in our music. Look how big King Promise's Terminator is when he used Ghanaian pidgin compared to "abena" when he only spoke twi.

    3) Nigerians have bigger aims and refuse to be ignored so they are more focused on becoming bigger on an international scale whereas Ghanaians are too humble and are only making music that only Ghanaians can relate too.

    4) Nigerians are good at evolving the Afrobeats sound and style which helps them cater to all people around the world whereas Ghanaians don't seem to want to revive and evolve Highlife music and would rather have that afro-reggae sound which is sad because Highlife has soo much potential to put Ghana on the map because of how influential it is and the history behind it.

    5) We keep comparing ourselves to Nigerian artist which automatically makes them look superior to us, if we focus on ourselves and just for hard we will see success instead of worrying about what Nigerian artists are doing every single second because the truth is they don't think about our music scene like that because they know they are doing well and working hard enough to stay on top.

    6) Nigerians make music that is bouncy, upbeat and that people can dance to, they make party music which is what everyone wants to hear not matter where in the world you are. Whereas Ghanaian's make slow mellow songs that are nice but won't attract a crowd or make people want to dance.

It's not that difficult to understand Ghanaians should rather follow the steps that Nigerians have taken to be successful instead of being jealous then we will actually see a change for once. But it's like Ghanaian musicians don't want to listen they think everyone in the world understand twi.

Yall stop pushing ya artist against Nigeria artist and industry. It does not make sense. Only Ghana does that in Africa.. Yall gonna have blood pressure. Nigerians are damn rich and their way of life, thier culture, sense of fashion,Skin color is damn attractive. Any thing they do prospers….

I am Nigeria, and I must criticize Ghanaian Media for putting your artistes under intense pressure to accomplish Nigeria' success. No other country does what you people doing.

Ghanaian artistes are GREAT at comparing themselves to Nigerians. Individual Nigerian artistes are filling Arenas with capacity of 1000,000, 80,000, 60,000, 20,000, 12,000 people. Sarkodie will stay in Kumsai and brag that he ranks with Nigeria's mega stars.

Ghana is still trying to figure out the crucial reason for the dominance of Nigeria's Afrobeat. For a fee of $10,000, I will introduce Ghana to the fearsome JUJU man in my village who is behind Nigeria's success. However, before introducing you to Nigeria witchcraft, you should first explore: Talent, Creativity, and Relentless Hard Work.

How do you guys invest in your artists when you people always claim you have more talents than Nigerians and your artists are better than them? You guys unfortunately don’t know what your problems are.

Hahah when you make funerals and chop bar music you expect it to attract foreign audiences? Chale we are still playing. Until we tell ourselves the truth and have an intervention about our lapses, ghana music will continue to struggle to reach international audiences. Collaborations are a big key, investment, and sound. We had hiplife and we killed it with our own hands, highlife we killed it, and now we are trying to copy the sound of another nation instead of working on exporting our own. Hate me or not this is my truth. The old musicians penetrated the Nigerian market because they did good music, with catchy beats. It has nothing to do with connection.
