What I think is PROC is a modern nation state which has successfully converged the foreign Marxist-Leninist philosophy with the domestic age-long Confucian philosophy which has shaped the Chinese mind without us knowing It. Shared Community of Humanity which Xi now preaches incessantly is almost identical to what Confucious's ultimate goal of humanity. Tian Xa Wei Kung 天下為公，which literally means The World is Everybody or The World Belongs To Everybody. Also China's assistance to the Global South which the West would describe as a debt trap is a mere reflection of the own colonial mindset. China went through tough times in the Western colonial era, so we really want to help those who are in the same dire conditons. When China helped build the Tanzania-Zambian railroad in the 50's, China was also dirt poor. Because we believe in brotherhood,out of our belief in another great Confucian tenet, We Are All Brothers Within the Four Oceans. 四海之內，皆兄弟也。the West should study more about Confucianism so that it can understands China better.
I'm an engineer and investor who just made the move from California to Shanghai for some of the reasons you mentioned. I see the flashing red lights in the US. Might not happen in my lifetime, but I'd prefer my children be born and raised on the rising plane rather than the falling one.

You picked your governments blindly and never asked why been on a global rampage for decades
China thinks long, they been around for 2000 years, USA thinks short and is a shallow, illiterate and arrogant nation, China is the opposite.
This is a clash of economic models. US model is the traditional empire model, it doesn't matter where goods are produced as long as wealth are transfered to the center of the empire. Empire job is to crush any uprising or challenge to its rule. Wealth is taken from its subjects around the world and paid for by empire monopoly money. China model is to produced everything in the country and by doing so making it attractive to other countries to trade with it. China is just doing what China do best and in the process other countries come to China and want things from China. Hey China, can I get cheap EV, cheap solar panels, cheap mobile phones, China says you got it buddy. Hey China, you got good train network, do you think you can help me build one in my country? China says you got it buddy. Without a single bullet or any coercion, countries are flocking to China model because they are sick of the European and US model of taking their stuff without paying for them.
