  1. i think this would be completely different if they had also launched a pure white foundation. But with only a pure black one this is just performative inclusivity

  2. i'm not black, i'm brown, but i think more options are a good thing – this is the opposite of pure white, which no one complains about. it's good for mixing with other shades or wearing on its own if it's close enough to your own complexion; i think it'd be very striking. people who exclusively wear 'natural' makeup wouldn't understand. sure, i don't know the company's intention but i can see a good reason behind this.

  3. I feel it is very obvious the brand was like “oh you want us to have darker shades??? here you go!!” so gross of them – this was clearly a bitter and cruel move

  4. Honestly I’m Asian but it would be a good face paint BUT I feel like it’s a bit racist. Like imagine is they make a literal yellow foundation. Youforia(don’t know how to spell it) is a great brand but I think they went a bit too far a it

  5. At first i thought it's like the magic foundation that matches your skin when blending, but for dark skin. The longer i kept watching this, the more i felt like they are trolling you. It's not that hard to match all skin tones if you understand color theory, wich a cosmetic brand should!

  6. I don't know much about make up but I know you cannot be a makeup brand without knowing how skin colours work. This was totally a pr stunt and its working great it seems.

  7. I didnt know it was just black pigment loll…but us darkskinned gurlies complained and complained bc makeup brands obviously werent thinking of us when making shades. But they obviously was just like “fuck it” maybe no one would actually need that shade, but if someone does then perfect. I think its enough that the brand is putting money and time into this shade even if it is just black. Its not offensive. Its literally inclusivity from 0-100. If they have a pure white shade that is😂

  8. This looks like they tried to pass of black face as something beautiful/ desirable which is bizarre. Unreal that they haven't been testing it the same way as other foundations and skipped undertones, it feels rushed

  9. People coming at dark skin black people saying they complain about everything literally shut the hell up, before have a ignorant opinion about it try to understand why is it so hard to dark skin black people to find a correct fondation that isn’t too light or just does not look like someone literally painted the color black in their skin , it really feels like at times black people really can’t have their opinions or ask for shit when it’s about their skin tone without getting gaslighted saying it’s not that deep….it is actually cause it’s shows that brands don’t care enough about this complexion.

  10. I think it is kind of mean doing that. The only thing I can think of to make it ANY better would be if it is meant to be pigment to mix into foundation that it too light… but I actually think it wouldn't even work

  11. I think this product might be very useful, but not as a foundation, but as something to mix foundation with or as a contour for deep skintone

  12. But…the darkest skinned person maybe could use it for contour shading? And otherwise might struggle to find a shade darker than their own to do shading with….And a lot of ppl mix foundations to customize it so perhaps for the very dark person, it could actually be a hard to find, useful product? 🤔Why would the company do it to be mean? It seems like they probably just thought the whole range of tones would be useful to makeup artists? With the first woman trying it in the video… the foundation seemed to have undertones and not be black but rather a deeply dark almost black-brown. So I’m struggling to believe it’s just straight up midnight tar black.

  13. There are people that are very very black. They are very rare, but that doesn't mean that they don't deserve to have a foundation. I think we're going a bit too far with all these reasons to create toxicity.

  14. It’s like putting literal white paint on a the most pale person ever, no matter how pale and white they are they are never truly white so yeah horrible decision 👎

  15. They shouldn’t have advertised and marketed this as a foundation but a foundation pigment. I have used white foundation pigments mixed with regular shades of foundation close to my color to achieve the correct level of “pale” my skin is. Mixing this with other foundation colors might be the ideal shade for some people. The whole presentation and marketing of this is the real problem. Might be a good product for some but as advertised it’s just lazy, disrespectful, and disappointing.

  16. Imao when a company is planning a launch it doesn’t just take a week or two. If they wanted black women to wear their products they would’ve included the option when they were planning everything else.

  17. What they could have marketed that for is as an additive to shades that aren't dark enough. Like yellow and blue pigments they sell to modify a foundation's tone.

  18. I thought somebody was going to say that they tried to make some political statement like there's no such thing as being black we're all a mix of colors or something but this is even weirder
