  1. We should own our own business and hire each other. Yes. But name should not matter if you have talent. If a company does not want you because you are Black, find somewhere else. Make sure you have skills and mindset to be of value to multiple businesses.

  2. If they would take away the name and race category from applications and replace it with a number or bar code system, black people could go a long way of getting hired for jobs and other things. I think that it’s absolutely ridiculous and unnecessary to stop being uniquely us for others.

  3. Until we build our own, can we please stop giving our children names that IMMEDIATELY exclude them from consideration?
Tom/Becky are not going to be in the board room saying Zarquidaneesha or Q'Drayveontè

  4. I’ll give my children a “palm colored palatable” name along with an African name. Names have power. That’s why you have to be careful what you name your children. There’s tons of names to choose from.

  5. Retired however I hired a large number of people over my career and never once rejected someone because of their name, their skills interpersonal as well as job related and work habits were of primary importance

  6. 👉 WHY DO PARENTS WILLFULLY DO THINGS THEY KNOW WILL NEGATIVELY IMPACT THEIR KIDS? SOME FADS IN BLACK CULTURE ARE BELLIGERENT & CONTRADICTORY TO COMMON SENSE! 🤔

  7. Well my name is Shenique & I was born in 1975 so this should explain the kind of parent's I had & it should really explain HOW MY JOB SEARCHES WENT 👇🏽
Shaniqua (also Sheniqua) is a female given name in the English language, originating in the African-American community during the 1970s to 1980s Afrocentrism movement.[1][2][3][4][5] It has been used in racism-related incidents to symbolize black women.[6][7]wiki
Thanks dad if you liked it then I love it 🫶🏽/✊🏽

  8. I like that we've come up with our own names, I just don't like two things about them. They can be either too extra or have a tendency to be attached to the wrong people thus making them be referred to as hood/ghetto names

  9. Yep they look at your name and they can tell if your fourth generation was past through their fourth generation hands. You know that plantation thing, giving you a job is like payment for the sins of their four father's and mother's.

  10. Thank you for this black and black and black and black and black and black and black and black and black and black and black love love love love 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤

  11. Names are very important. I'm so happy you brought this up. I told my husband that we were going to pick out names for our children that would at least get their foot in the door. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate a strong African American name but we have to at least give our children a hand up for being considered for the job. We went with race neutral names and we prepped them on filling out the application so that the company will call them thinking it's their kind 😂. We have to think smarter. Yes, let's pull together and have our own.✌🏽✊🏽

  12. I have nothing against being unique but sometimes like it'd be over the top like. Don't do that to your kids. a cute unique name yeah..not something that's extra or "hood ish"

  13. And your area code. I don't hear anything to get our own stuff going with. Access to capitol. Black folks won't invest in Black folks. Convince the rich black folks that they have a responsibility to invest in their own people. It ain't rocket science.

  14. I gave my daughter a simple biblical name. I told her her name will take her far in life, and it did when she went to college her teachers all told her they wish they had 20 other students like her

  15. It is true however some of these names are ridiculous. I have a problem with some of these name. Parents should give names that are positive and not putting their children in the spotlight. I say ghetto.

  16. CORPORATIONS DON LIKE DA MADE UP GHETTO NAMES…..OR YO GHETTO CULTURE….NOBODY ELSE DOES EITHER. YET AGAIN YOU GRIFTAS AND MILLSTONES ARE DA PROBLEM, BUT YO SELF-ENTITLEMENT AND DELUSIONS OF NOBILITY/GRANDEUR PREVENT YOU FROM SEEING REALITY……FOGET NOBILITY AND GRANDEUR…..YOU MILLSTONES HAVENT EVEN ACHIEVED ADEQUACY YET!!!!!!!😂😂😂😂🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡
