The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s office has released body camera footage from a shooting that killed U.S. Air Force Airman Roger Fortson inside his apartment. Sheriff Eric Aden said the deputy entered the correct apartment and announced himself, adding that Fortson acknowledged law enforcement was at the door and had a gun.

  1. He did not announce himself at first. He only said police on his 2nd and 3rd hard knock… Should have said police the first time. Why didn't he? He heard no disturbance in the apt. Just knock say police and ask is everything ok in there? He heard no disturbance!!!

  2. First off listen to the white lady making up the LIE they always lying these fools didn't even do the damn investigation right they just went and executed this brother on some b*****

  3. If it was a white person do you think that officer would have fire shot like that as you can see is gun was facing down he wasn't pointing it at the officer they didn't even ask if it was license or ask him to put it down so, it would be a different story if the person refused arrest that officer must be behind bar for the murder

  4. It was an ambush. The cop walked away from the door after he knocked wiithout announcing himself, as if he wanted the victim to open the door and shoot him . I call for a new protocol, tell the citizen to not open the door and call 911 . After we citizens know it's legit, we will answer the door if it's safe

  5. He may have picked up his gun before he heard the sheriff saying sheriff dept, that may be why he had gun pointed downward. He gave that young man no time to rest down his gun. I heard no noise coming from that apartment when law enforcement arrived. So sad and painful. May his soul RIP, condolences to his entire family!

  6. Viewed Video. Pro Law Enforcement here, but this was a bad shooting. Someone knocks on door, NO Announcement of a LEO for about X amount of time. Then knocks again announcing it's a LEO. My spidey senses would be on full alert as to the validity of that Announcement. Then the Airman opens door, firearm pointed towards floor, yet LEO draws and fires at the VICTIM? Bad SHOOT/event from beginning to the horrific/tragic end!
    👎🧐 RIP Airman. 🇺🇲🇺🇲🫡🫡🇺🇲🇺🇲

  7. The cop knocked at the door, didn't announce himself and moved to the side, basically hiding from the peep hole. The airman looked through the peep hole and didn't see anyone, so he went to get his gun. Then the cop knocked the second time and announced himself. When the airman was now aware of who was knocking, he decided to open the door whilst holding on to his gun which was pointed to the floor. The cop saw him with the gun and opened fire. Does he open fire at people in public whom he sees holding a gun? The cop is clearly at fault.
