Are you in Luanda? What is your favorite spot in the city?

@jason4275

Its crazy that its an oil rice country butt 80% of the population lives in poverty

@DomicianoGaspar

The only problem in Angola is that the government refuses to fund education properly, and the high dependency on oil. Other then that it has made lots of progress that cannot be seen in this video. There are better areas then this.

My father is from Angola. I haven't been there or to any other African country. Not knowing my father makes the option more difficult, but not impossible, I definitely would like to visit a place of my roots sometime, hopefully not very "late"! 🙂

It's so sad that the poor have to suffer while the corrupt elite get richer.

Hi Angola. something unusual got my attention about Angola. besides learning geography in school about this beautiful country. while working on a night duty I stepped out of my office and certainly heard a sound of a flight flying south west through our city, Nairobi some minutes past midnight. I was interested to know the origin and destinations of that flight. I quickly googled flight radar 24 only to learn the flight was air Angola destine Luanda from Hongkong. its now a month and i do ensure during clear skies i must watch as it passes here. I love Angola I love Luanda, Catumbela, Namibe, Cabinda etc. someday i gonna visit there.

@sacredtheban

there's a brazilian song called "yayá massemba" which tells a story, mixing portuguese and kimbundu words, about an enslaved man brought to brazil from angola, he says he can still see the moonlight in luanda because it will be alive in his heart forever, just like a beach covered by flowers always resists. it's a beautiful song

@sacredtheban

most black brazilians like me descend from angolans, that's why i love angola so much, i wish the best for the country so i can return to my ancestral land where we should never been sold to be treated as animals in the "new world"

It is the same story in sub Saharan African countries.. Few rich and many poor, natural resources are in the hands of the white people and now the Chinese also in the looting team. Look at the history of Belgian Congo, it was private property of brutal king Leopold and later Glencore and now the Chinese. Africa is sucked dry by the multinationals….
