Hi, i just discovered your channel. I love trying food from different cultures. The first African dish i tried was Mafe. I just googled vegan African and this recipe came up. I loved it so much and have been searching for authentic African vegan recipes since. I'm definitely gonna check out some of your recipes 🙂

Would you add black beans and diced jalapeños and maybe like a tiny bit of dill pickle relish I think that might be fire I don’t know what this taste like but I can kind of imagine the ingredients in my mouth 😂😂

I've been wanting to try nigerian food because I have a nigerian great great great great grandmother, plus I love trying new food! I'm so happy that this can be made vegan too! The fufu kind of intimidates me but I'm here for it.

Next time, you can try palm oil instead of the canola oil. It gives a richness in the color. Also, a bit less water in the egusi mixture. The goal is to keep the “egusi balls” intact. Wonderful recipe execution.
Ok this looks amazing! And girl I also started making more vegan African dishes let me tell you what to use instead of seaweed for crayfish taste IRU! DAWA DAWA! It’s fermented sesame seed and it has a fishhyyyyyy taste and pungent stinky odor but the flavor profile is immaculate! Trust me! Any seafood flavor you use this stuff changed the game for me! Most Nigerians cook with it anyways. It’s such a beautiful flavor on the tongue palet!
I have so much respect for vegan cooks and vegan food bc people really under estimate vegans but I promise anything you can do I can do it vegan
