Usain Bolt's Diet

We interviewed Usain Bolt in April 2016. We asked him about his diet when he is training and the food he tries to avoid.

@bldmyamean8352

Fried chicken and collar greens right? Plus a side of grand theft and senior robbery. But make sure you leave you baby momma first.

@poseyjames4365

Food don't have nothing to do with this.
Usain Bolt has superior genes…he was born to run real fast.
Real talk.

@erichansen3641

Johnny Weissmuller ate 1 pound of bacon, 1 dozen eggs, and 1 loaf of bread. Every meal I think. Olympic Swimmer burn calories. Leroy "Satchel" Paige was against eating fried meat. Maybe that is where Usain Bolt's coach got that advice from?

He could've ate gummy worms and soda pop and still would've ran 9.7 or 8 in the 100 meters. He's a 1 in a trillion athlete. 9.58 14.35 and 19.19 are going to stand for a very very long time. There will be some who will get close but it's going to be 1000+ years before anyone on planet earth breaks any of his records.

6’5” 205lbs, crazy.

@Aragnam

I know why he likes KFC.

@Leonidas-eu9bb

nutrition is not as important for performance as most of you think.
Bolt indeed ate McNuggets before his Olympic Gold in Bejing! Many say WHAT?!
But he ate a pretty healthy diet his whole childhood and youth. So probably over 99% of the time he has unprocessed food.
It doesn't matter what source it come from carbs: rice, potatoes, bread. protein: fish, meat, eggs. It's all good as long as you don't overeat wich is very hard anyway with real food.

@saurabh5148

So in order to run fast we shouldn't eat fast food. Ok got it.

Carl Lewis was vegan since age of 18. And he did all 9 Gold Olympics medals while beeing vegan. My friens was Carls sheff, he also said that Carl did not eat fruits and sweets AKA everything with sugar he did not ate. Actually Carl set most of his PBs after 33 years of age.
