So some interesting back of the napkin math I did here suggests that if there were 26000 thousand dead from violence and 50% of 61000 is 30500 and I add those two numbers together and multiple it by the number of regions in Sudan we get a speculative total of 1017000 deaths so far.( mind you this is not taking into account varying death tolls by different regions, indirect deaths from fighting like famine and disease, or unrelated violence occurring alongside the war like murder, robbery etc). That is an estimate that might be based on misunderstanding on what Simon said earlier in the video about the death toll. So I redid the math this time just using the 26000 and the new total comes out to be 468000 people killed by the war( same exceptions apply as earlier).

Calling it long range strikes is very misleading. Those are tactical level weapons with up to 300km of range. Long range in frontline sense but not at long range overall or strategic sense. Frontline is hundreds of kilometers wide with supply depos, troop barracks, command centers, logistics hubs etc and you need to be able to hit that as a minimum.
