If Government tries to demolish the whole market because is not complying with safety standards they will start crying and tribalize everything … where in the world this type of market operates…. This people should seat with government and partner with investors to build something that comply with safety

This is just so wrong!!
In fact, this video gives the exact answers to the very question the video is asking!
The entire area is meant to be the original central business district for Lagos!
In terms of its location, it should be the equivalent of Manhattan Island in New York or the West End in London!
So if ideally, it was banks, 5* hotels, cinemas, insurance companies, fancy restaurants and shopping malls that were the occupants of the district , that would also bring about a more enlightened staff, personnel, clientele and visitors to such establishments and as such the less likely scenario of avoidable fire incidents!
But by allowing the area to disintegrate and degenerate and become the commune of the mass of street hawkers and petty traders, this is the result!
Without minding the pun, we are playing with Fire 🔥 in this Lagos Island!
The government needs to shutdown the entire area and relocate everybody elsewhere !
Then partner high grade property developers to regenerate and gentrificate the area into a high class retail, business district, as it should be!
That Lagos Island could be our own Dubai!
Why are we backward like this????
👊🏾🇳🇬👊🏾🇳🇬!
Why would Generators be placed on the top of buildings?
