  1. If you read the book you probably wouldn’t have a problem with being called that. Amazing the ‘’N’’ used to get you beat up even if you were black.

  2. EVERY BLACK PERSON MUST READ “ Uncle Tom’s Cabin” . lt. can be downloaded free from some sites ( Free on “Apple Books” app) BE PROUD TO BE AN UNCLE TOM. He gave his life for other Black folks during slavery. The book was written by an anti-slavery abortionist and sums up some of the cruelty of slavery from the author’s point of view. The Uncle Tom character is an ideal we should all strive for….in some Southern US States books with positive Black images are discouraged or omitted from school’s reading lists. We need to educate ourselves, define ourselves for ourselves, define our own role models, leaders etc and promote positive images of ourselves . Prepare to cry when reading the book.

  3. Thanks for bringing this to the forefront . Many African Blacks in the US know better but sadly the media depicts the truth as farce . Do not be so easy to believe the opposite just because the negative aspects get more attention . Don't think many do not know the facts of this fairy tale .

  4. Good day Phrankleen. Nice topics so far. I am based in Ireland at the moment. I suggest you could reach out to successful African and Nigerian professionals in the UK to discuss entrepreneurship, career development, Africa history, etc. We need encouragement both in Africa and across the world.

  5. The True Story Behind 'Uncle Tom's Cabin,' The Book that Rocked Pre-Civil War America Check out this YouTube documentary it's about the inspiration the author got from a real slave named Josiah Henson.

  6. So it was black folk who destroyed the good name of uncle Tom, just to push their own agenda. Why do we worry about non-black enemies when we have so many of our own.

  7. Hi, no matter where in this world , if you dare to be different or set a better standard , people who do not like the '" light ", will oppose you. For ex. if you are the only one in a group , who refuses to drink alcohol , they will feel " threatend " and "exposed".
Do you know a female Igbo writer Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie ? She has published " Americanah " which deals with the heartarche and the problems of living in two cultures.
    Greetings Conny
