  1. I was a lecturer in a UK College teaching Engineering for almost 5 years. What I hated the most was the distraction we got from less intelligent kids disrupting lessons for those who where there to learn and not there because you have to be in Education till 18. I was heavily underpaid whilst my least educated and incompetent white counterpart was overpaid. Eventually they had to fire him. Due to personal circumstances I had to relocate back to Zimbabwe . Whilst not on par with other my salary was not on par with others it was okay for me. I had good and bad experiences. I helped some of my Black learners get into good Apprenticeship programs note not Universities. By doing so they avoided the experience trap. I have done my part but I don’t think I will be going back anytime soon.

  2. ****Nigeria, vote right in this election, basedl on competence not ethnic group.
Old Europeans coming to Africa to marry young men/women, brain drain are all symptoms of Nigeria's economic decadence.

  3. Everything being stated in this video is so spot on. The fact that the teachers already in the UK are always striking should be a warning for any African sister or brother who is considering relocating for peanuts

  4. You are right to point this phenomenon out, but there is one easy solution to prevent the brain drain from happening—-pay key workers in those Africans well…and on time! Throughout the continent, we hear repeated horror stories of teachers, nurses and other civil servants not receiving their pay on time. Sometimes this can last for 8 months or more! How do the fat-cats in government expect them to remain loyal forever? They are the biggest imperialists!!!

  5. Before you convert £28K into Naira (N17,800,000) big money isn't? 🙂 more than what most top professionals earn in Nigeria …
    but the reality is,
You get around £1900 monthly salary, after income tax, NI etc.
A nice 2 beds outside London costs around £1300, so you are left with £600.
Council Tax = roughly £200 per month, it can be higher or a little lower, but for illustration purposes, you are left with £400.
Transportation = £200 (If you are very lucky with the location o)
Food cost around £300 per month for a single adult. (in case you have a dependant)
    Phone + Internet bill: £80
    Water, £25
Gas and Electricity can cost £300 per month …
I can't even name all the extras that will definitely pop up.
    ……
The fact is, £28,000 is a peanut salary, you are simply screwed.
Things may be a little better if you have an additional working partner or adults in the family, but you get the gist.
Don't come to the UK if you don't have a well-grounded strategic plan for your survival.
If you are over 40 and things are fairly working for you back home … don't even think about starting all over here.

  6. The West is taking advantage of our inability to govern ourselves. We are the primary reason we are where we are. The black man worships the white skin, and despises his melanin. Until Africans start voting right and placing logic above religion and tribalism, the rest of the world would keep taking advantage of our folly.

  7. I think that we need to stop even responding to these people. Until they give all the stolen artifacts back, don't do anything for them!! People pay big money to just see these artifacts. Probably where that 28000 salary is coming from! smh

  8. They ought to at least set their own salary if they need them that much. Tell the UK that you will do it for 60000. If they need you that much then they will comply. But they may comply in order to remove you from Afrika and take your knowledge and give it to EU as they move to Afrika. They are stealing from you people and you keep laying down and rolling over. You can't blame the leaders now if you agree to leave Nigeria. Make due with what you have there in Nigeria and suffer through your situation until God brings deliverance!!

  9. "The excavation of the best minds for the betterment of the United Kingdom." You couldn't have said that any better. At this point in time, Jamaica is exporting nurses and teachers. Our schools are paying for it right now and the govt couldn't care less if you ask me. Because at the end of the day every person who leaves the island equals remittances here.

  10. Yes all said, the Nigerian govt are to be blamed for all the brain drain, most of these people live below poverty level and you expect the people to live at these poverty level, and you saying this, why not not go back to your country and continue with what you do, do you realize that you are one of the brain drain, and your culture is also disregarded, stop bitting the fingers that fed you. Yes it's better a child slaps me than being killed by insecurities in Nigeria now. Stop it already.

  11. I see a lot of people having police cases. Some students may even say the teacher is too loud, and it is affecting their ear drum. The accent. These children lack maners.
I rejected going into teaching in 2012. I told my GF then that if I should try it, I would end up in jail. She busted and started laughing becos she got me right.
I saw the way they speak to teachers who are Brit. If they can be that rude to locals, they will be mean to foreign teachers. Only if the system will change on or before Feb

  12. Absolutely spot on. They always demean our qualification from Africa. How come they now are on the lookout for qualified teachers from the same African countries they don't place any value on. This is really Western hypocrisy of the highest rank.

  13. That’s nothing… I’m in the US ( Florida) teachers start at 47,500. Cost of living is high so it’s not a fortune. If you are not getting at least 40,000 pounds don’t do it!

  14. You have made very good points. The other angle to this, is the home government for example Kenya, doesn’t do good but its teachers, barely pays them (when it pays them).

Individually, why wouldn’t I want to do better for myself and my family, forsaking the overall community needs even for temporary moments?

It also opens doors to those teachers children for travel, and other opportunities that would have other otherwise never been available.

Mainly, let’s not always vilify the western governments for milking Africa when our leaders make it easy to do so. When you open a door to a thief, you only have yourself to blame.

  15. They are simply trying to fill a need. Teachers are in short supply because of the breakdown of society leading to more and more indiscipline in schools. The UK govt knows that higher salaries will not attract local talent to the profession, but since they still must have teachers, they are hoping desperate qualified Africans who are ignorant of declining social context will accept the job.

  16. They want the best for their people. What is Nigeria doing about it? If you choose to remain in Nigeria you either die of preventable accidents on the bad roads or get kidnapped. Talk to Nigerians not people who wants the best for their own people. Of course we will be slaves to them if we are not ready to fight for our own people. I don’t think we have the right to tell them how they should live in their own country let’s build ours

  17. I love your videos but I think you’re not considering a few key details. 1. There are some careers that always have work shortages teachers, and nurses happen to be two of those positions.
    2. Before anyone travels for a job they should work with the employer to guarantee their pay, help with housing, and other benefits if available. 3. Try a brief trial and error period by substitute teaching first, if you don’t like substitute teaching then go back home.
    4. 28k in pounds is equivalent to what you would get In the states so it’s not that bad. You probably will have to get a roommate.

  18. This is arguably the best YouTube video I’ve ever watched in my life. Thank you for this insightful video. You are one of a kind. Please please don’t stop making your videos

  19. True. Too many blacks lack critical thinking skills. As you sometimes say they suffer from the illusion of inclusion. This mindset is worldwide and is to be found everywhere. Here in the US millions of blacks feel they have been accepted into the mainstream of those who own, run, and control the country. They haven't. We definitely need to start thinking critically.

  20. Is it not amazing that even internationally teachers of English second Language/ English foreign language can be recruited with a minimal ESL qualification and any bachelors, no pgce, no background in education as long as they are "native" speakers or natives. A properly qualified , accreditated teacher with years of experience of international syllabi will be overlooked, then suddenly we are good enough….inspite of our accents and African quirks???no need for qts just ….come and teach? Not being cynical asking for a friend.

  21. £28,000 is peanuts in the 🇬🇧. Life is very expensive. It may sound like a good salary if you’re in Africa but not in any part of the uk. I’d never take that sort of salary

  22. It’s so easy for people to sit in their comfort zones and become experts in pan-Africanism. While they so easily lose touch with the realities of the very people they seek to advice or analyze. I’m guilty of the same too. While venting my anger sometimes on a glass of champagne, I ramp and rage about the unfair and deliberately crafted structure against Africa and Africans with my friends and loved ones on the phone. Meanwhile this unfair pay never skips its due time, and helps solve quite a bit back home. I can afford to take trips with ease to anywhere and at anytime of the day without any fear of being forcefully domestically excavated by anyone (this time not by Europeans). I have access to health care which others call “Illusion of Inclusion!”. At least, my anger is only with the system…which I’m no novice to. So before we all go becoming elitists on media platforms, what alternatives do we have to offer these people who we see as running into well-crafted traps set by Europeans? Nothing…just noise and self-entitlements. Do you think these Europeans are supposed to cuddle and hug us in the first place???

  23. As a teacher in the UK for over 10 years. Chances are 98% of these recruited nigerian teachers will loss their dignity.. another form of slavery await..they will be made to understand that they should be grateful that they were employed and thing the do will be enough.
