Uganda to reduce external borrowing in 2025


Uganda’s public debt, which stood at nearly 25.3 billion U.S. dollars in June 2024, is hindering the country’s development plans. However, officials are optimistic that the country’s growing oil and gas reserves will help boost the economy and reduce reliance on external borrowing.
